Murder of Shorty Holt

Elizabethtown, KY

#62 Jul 11, 2010
I think the murder of Shorty Holt was bad. But what's is worse is the fact that there have never been any arrest made. Looks like they are not even trying to solve the murder. Hopefully one day I'll be shocked and the law will figure it out.

Didn't some kid do something similar out in Knifley? I can't remember exactly, but I was thinking some kid killed his/her parents out there. Anyone know what I'm talking about? As far as the cold case murders, sooner or later "most" of them will get solved. I've seen them go 6 or 7 years with no news, then BAM - they roll a whole crowd in on charges. I don't know how they do it, but more power to them. I say an eye for an eye & a tooth for a tooth.

It was Blake Walker in Knifley he killed both his parents. I think it was about seven years ago. You can see him in the kool system he got 99 years.

i think the worst thing in adair county is the lack of balls the law has in the small town....plus the judicial system is crooked as hell....this town needs someone who isnt scared to lay down the law no matter who it is or how big and bad u think u are...the drug problem is going to be ongoing its a given but it can be handled better than it is in this town....its all through out the town blacks, whites , yellows, every color, so im not pointing fingers it just needs to be handled better, with a tougher law enforcement....someone with no fear and knows how to handle theirself...you get someone like that in here and a few guys to back him, then this town will look better fast
I know someone that would make a great officer because he hates drugs, is not afraid to go or anywhere in this town to take down the ones that is dealing. I wish the ones that was running for sheriff would come talk to him or the state either one and I guarentee you no one would pay him off.

who is he? i got a few in mind myself including me, but im not going to throw any names out here cause this site is good for rumors and making shit up but if you stick to the topic it can be an alright site for new ideas such as this one to solve a major problem in a small town....i myself hate drugs and what comes with it and i hate greed so i definitely could not be paid off....i believe in doing what is right and i also believe in karma....what goes around comes around everythign bad thing you do comes back ten times as much

I cant say his name on here because like you said rumors would start and for no reasons at all. I wish several would get together and maybe get into law enforcment and it would be a huge change in this town.

yes it would be a huge change and that is what that town needs, not only the drugs is tearing that town apart but the law and judicial system as well, if something is going to change there then they should start from the floor and work their way up so to speak, cause what good will it do to make the bust and send them to trial only to get a slap on the wrist, and all the big wheels that are into the drug business get it in their heads that they can't be touched when they are pushing small weight, i would love for the so called dealers in columbia to get a taste of real city life, and the hard ones that think they have what it takes to kill a man, they have no idea how it feels, NO IDEA! but none the less never scared our people should talk and get something workedd ouot in the near future cause it would be a lifetime achievement for me to crackdown on that town and its drug dealers and every crooked SOB in it

What was the cover up with Shorty holt? I also heard that Bruce Harrison and Bass had something to do with the murder of Wally Johnson, but that is just rumors who knows if it is true. That happened so many years ago?

I can remember two cars hitting head on at the bottom of the 's' curves just out 61 south from columbia just across the bridge, there was the best i can remember either 5or 6 people lost thier lives as a result of that collision,it was back in the late 5o's or the early 60's the driver of one of the cars last name was Lasley, and the driver of the other car ibelieve was a Janes, he and his wife were an older couple, that was very sad for all the familys involved,i do know some of the family members are still living in the county today, mayde others can add to what i have said about that wreck.

There were so many tragic accidents that happened when I lived in Columbia back in the 70ís and 80ís.

Does anyone remember that terrible car wreck back in the 70ís at Homes Bend involving the death of a couple teens? I think there were around 4-6 teens involved and I believe it was senior week. The driver lost control around a curve and wrapped the car around a tree. I remember seeing the car and it was unrecognizable. That accident haunted me for many years!
