U5?? well they've done the most to divide Columbia since maybe it's inception. I'm sure they would not get the majority to agree, oh wait they all lost in the election. Hmmm.

The CPD, FD and the paramedics as a group. If I had to single one person out it would have to be officer Jerry Paul, he works as an officer and is very involved in the community.

Dewan (sp) from Firestone is another candidate, he's been involved for years with the Kiwi's club, gives to charity and asks for nothing.

I think Paul Frierdich has done lots of good things for Columbia as well over the years.

Lester Schneider might get some votes too.

WOW! You U5 haters really are hatefull!! Try to say something positive and the Neimietz-Hutchinson hate club responds with full venom. Here's a recommendation - get over your hatred, THANK THE U5 for saving Columbia from your mistakes, and then MOVE ON!

wow. Just found this site last night and I am amazed at the hatred by the U5 vs. Unnerstall group. You people need to get a life. People were doing what they thought was best. And then people unleash their venom on here because its anonomous. Unreal. I think they should all be voted out, and if I lived there still I would help eliminate all of them for not working together. They all have helped destroy relationships and friendships that were built over the years. How sad and petty :( DO YOURSELF A FAVOR COLUMBIA, VOTE THEM ALL OUT STARTING WITH THE NEXT EELCTION UNTIL THEY ARE ALL GONE.

Former Columbian, I have to respectfully differ with you about voting them all out in the next election. Look what "amazed" wrote. That is typical of what the people who hate the U5 say about these aldermen, they like to paint them as evil and they are not. The U5 turned out to be right to oppose Columbia Crossing (the agreement wasn't even legally valid and Hutchinson was taking a $2000 donation from Grewe the developer), but a lot of people supported it and so they generated a lot of hatred, and still do, toward the U5. Now if the remaining U5 decide to run for re-election, they shouldn't be thrown out for doing the right thing!

Politics have evolved into hate and division. It flourishes there.'We the people' have lost control by being passive and lazy concerning the direction of our government..at all levels.

This is a good subject though..recognising those that do have true civic pride. These people should be recognised for their efforts, big or small.

Many hated how the U5 represented Columbia and didn't like their opinion on stopping Grewe AFTER an agreement was reached thus putting us taxpayers at a huge risk. I don't believe THEY hated the individuals per se.

I for one voted against them and if would do the same today.

back to topic, I'd give my vote to the Luhr family as they have done many goood things for all of Monroe county, also thank the business owners for choosing Columbia.

Let's get back on the subject. How about Edna Dell Weinel? She's very kind and charitable. She even puts water out by the sidewalk for walkers' dogs. Great lady!

Edna Dell Weinel definetly deserves a nomination! I don't know of a more giving person. She is kind and charitable and she is not one to pass judgement on anyone. She makes sure she has the facts before she speaks on any topic. And she truly is an amazing lady! Love you ED

Having to name one person would be hard I will name a few Mike Kish,Gregg Crawford,Frierdichs,Joe Koppies
and the U5 saved us from a diaster with Grewe ,Grewe should be thanking his lucky stars that that mess never was approved with the economy going into the dumpster this would have been a financial nightmare for Columbia and Grewe unfortunately Grewe or the people wanting the development to happen could never admit this ,overall this is a community that volunteers it time and money go to Firemans fish frys ICS picnic Columbia Days a lot of volunteers
