I stopped in Tiny's last Saturday night after being in South County for some shopping. Wow, the service was so bad and the bartenders seemed clueless to what service is. It took almost 10 minutes just to get noticed that we wanted to order some drinks, then it took another 10 minutes to get them. I had to use the restroom and the one by the Bar scared the crap out of me, what a pig pen. Also, what is with the regulars, they take up space where you can't get to the bar, then they scream and demand drinks before anyone else? What made it worse is the bartender was screaming back at them. I hate to say it, but my girlfriends and I will never be back in that place.

Was it the horse face in the front bathroom that freaked you out?

I've got the "your not from around here" look/service from Tiny's a couple of times over the last couple of years. Which sucks b/c Tiny's has potential. The bar area is a decent atmosphere to watch a game especially since it went non-smoking and the beer patio nice!

You are crazy if you think that patio is nice. You should take a look around, because you are sitting in the middle of an ashtray, butts all over the place and flys in the warm months. The bar area is a dump and stinks like backed up sewage. Go next door for a real enjoyable night out.

Yup. Tiny's could've been the G&G before it came around and have done a better job of it. Much better property with the patio, but they've decided to cater to a less sophisticated clientele, which is fine. There's lots of ways to make money serving booze.

I moved to Columbia 21 years ago and was shocked when my inlaws brought their kids to the bar. I was told people in Monroe County grew up like that. It was news to me. I still couldn't bring myself to take my kids to a bar.

Hey gsgirl, aren't you the one that posted that nasty thread "New Neighbors"? I take it you were the wife that got dumped for a younger girl, then you post an address and say "They" brought the kids into it. No, you did, get over it.

What you may see as a bar, others see a community gathering place. There are other beverages served in many Monroe county "bars" and many of these "bars" serve food as well.

As for Tiny's you mean gathering place for the local drunken lowlifes. Yeah, they serve food but it is not worth getting sick over. Pizzas are either burnt beyond recognition or undercooked, wings are dry, burgers ok, but the main thing is called service. It sucks in Tiny's, either at the bar or in the dining area. The place doesn't have a single so called Bartender in the place, just beer slingers. Also they are so busy on the cell phones or talking that it takes forever to get served. Also don't you think that a simple greeting would be appropiate instead of "What do you want?". But like you stated there are other things served in the BAR, why is it the kids sit at the bar eating fries or chips while the parents are pounding down beers getting drunk and then driving with these kids in the car, real classy community gathering place huh?

i know there are bars that serve food. i have taken my kids into bobecks, or tiny's, or gruchalas to eat meals. that's not what i am talking about. when i was at fountain there was a table where all the kids sat by themselves. there were games on the table and they would run around and play with the pool balls. all while their parents sat at a table, out of eyeshot, drinking to the point of oblivion. the kids were even going in and outside as they pleased. and these are kids aged 6 or 7 or younger. reminds me of the turner hall fish fries - that i will nver attend again because of how people allow their children to behave.

Tinys now has Cahokia trash coming in.
The group seemed fine until they got drunk, then they were yelling, acting ghetto and trying to start fights.
I'd rather sit with snobs.

Don't forget about the Columbia trash that has been there and now works there. Been stinking up the place for years.

i don't think there is a 'best', cause it depends on what you want. cheap vs quality, loud vs quiet, classy vs trashy.
