Does anyone know if they have gone bankrupt or something? I can't get them to answer the office phone or grants cell, and they don't return my calls. I need them to finish the last two problems on my house they built.

o.k., what is the problem? spill it if you know. and please skip all that crap about drinking and wife swaping and other junk. I don't care what they may or may not do at the bar, I just need my house finished. Its been over two years and we are down to the last two problems.

We are having the same problem. Can't get them to finish ours either. You might as well give up and do it yourself.

Paul is busy policiing other builders and trying to run them out of "his" neighborhoods..he can be found driving up and down the streets of said neighborhoods giving the other builders dirty looks, and calling the union on them so that they picket them and hold up the job. So my advice is go to those neighborhoods and hold a sign up that you need to talk to him. Its sad really, but if you can get ahold of Paul he may take care of things for you.

maybe we all need to get together. possibly a class action lawsuit. its a shame really. if having a legal fight with thier employees was bad publicity, can you imagine what beingsued in a class action case by your customers will do? it will end the business, and i'm sure none of want that; we just want our houses fixed.

I just heard that they poured the foundation on the wrong lot. If this is true they need to stop worrying about everyone else building in their neighborhoods and worry about themselves. gheesh these people are almost comical.

HJF has been in business for 3 generation and has build many quality homes, it's ashame only the bitchers get on her to belittle them and i'd guess many used to work for them so it's thier small minded way to get back at them, too bad.

those people wanting to "get back at them", would they be the homeowners wanting thier houses finished or the workers who sued them for thier money or the suppliers waiting to get paid? lol
fortunately, it appears paul is back in charge and things are starting to turn around.

first, they built both my parents and my homes, and finished them as agreed and to our satisfaction.

secondly, given the economy and the number of contractors that have gone out of business it's nice to see they have or had a plan that is starting to work. Just maybe all the employee's (if owed) and the suppliers will get paid, it's more than most contractors have been able to do.
Thanks Paul.

Think about it. A city attorney that can charge a contractor at any time, Without question $250.00 per hour.Experienced employees demanding higher pay and benefits,Zoning boards putting more costly (improvements in building codes),Higher material cost. NOW with the economy in the tank everyone wants something for nothing,You as an employer work twice as many hours for nothing, you can't keep this system up forever. How many of you have employees, pay ins, keep up with government red tape and then try to maintain your sanity. (GOOD LUCK)

HJ built our home 14 years ago, and I know has built at least 10 homes our friends lives in...all are happy. Any issues we had with our home were addressed...like any GOOD builder would.

Additionally, I use HJ for all "projects" I need done and those have come off without a hitch as well.

I am happy to see Adam back with the business!!

Builders will go the way of the small farmers and small businesses in general (you have the choice work for the government or walmart) quit complaining till you employ more than 5 employees. I'm sure you depend on someone to write you a weekly check!
