I'm going to be going back to work in January & am looking for day care. I don't mind home daycare or a center. Any suggestions?
This will be the first time my 4 year old will be in day care & I also have a newborn that will be 3 months in January.

Hi Mom. I do in-home daycare. Currently caring for two siblings. 3 yr old boy and 18-month old girl. Good kids, nice family. I can offer care for your little ones. I've been doing this for over 7 yrs, and have raised 3 of my own. Have very good rates, with a sibling discount. I am right outside of columbia, down from George Weber.

My email is [email protected]
Please email me if u have any questions!
Hope to hear from u soon!

Thanks guys...I will be contacting you guys. this is such a hard decision for me to go back to work & trust that someone will love & care for my children as I do. My 4 year old is only used to mom being home & now w/ a new baby too, its just a difficult situation.

i think creative kids is a great place and always has been. they have a really great curriculum. however one place i don't suggest is carrot patch. trust me. i've been working in child care since i was 18 and that was the worst i've ever worked at.

Hilltop is a wonderful place. Very nice and dedicated teachers and just a great environment for children! I highly recommend!

Creative Kids is the BEST!!!!!! Loved it -- and wish my kids were young enough to still go there. The owners and teachers are so caring and give so much of their time to each child.

What do you know about the Lighthouse? My daughter will start Parkview in the fall and currently goes to pre-K in MO. I don't know much about the Columbia options. I am looking at KidzLanding, Lighthouse, "Wee Discover." But the Wee Discover lady never calls me back.
Went to Carrot Patch and would not take my child there if my life depended on it.

There are alot of inhome daycares in Columbia. You can ask the school they might give you some names. Or at the library. Good Luck

Do not judge Carrot Patch by their appearance. They have wonderful people there who really care about your kids. Both of mine went there years and years ago and to this day when they see one of their former caregivers, they not only remember my children's names, but they give them hugs and talk with them. What would you rather have, fancy surroundings or someone who cares for your child?

I can second that! My son goes there and LOVES it. Great, caring teachers and a pretty decent rate to boot.

Actually, I never said I didn't like Carrot Patch because of their appearance. There are many reasons I didn't care for it and I did not want to get into those here. I am insulted by your insinuation that I only care about appearances and not what really matters. Please read more carefully next time.

Hilltop is a great place, but they are only for 2yrs and up. Kidz Landing is in the same building for after school care and they are awesome. Just my two cents :)

Forgot to mention that Hilltop is a Christian based daycare and learning center, whereas all the others are not. They are housed in Christ Community Lutheran Church.

We liked the Lighthouse when our kids were younger...clean place, good teachers, good experience for us.
