Everybody gets along now, so I move we cancel anymore elections till the current office holders resign and then we should just appoint who is suggested by those leaving. Will save the LOSERS a lot of anguish and retribution.

The losers of the last TWO elections will stop at nothing to portray the Mayor and entire council as people who hate the town they live in and are raising their children in, pitiful group.

Petitions to run for office will be available probably the second week in December, so you've got all the time in the world to make up your mind, citizen.

I think it's pretty much a given that Kevin Hutchinson will run for re-election again. I don't personally have anything against nor am I a supporter, but to see all of the comments on Topix that rip on him, how do you explain that he would be seeking a third term? Most voters must like what he is doing.......No hate, please. I merely stated what would seem to be obvious.

Does anyone think Jim Agne would make a good mayor?

No I don't think J Agne would be a good mayor. I'm not sure who would, small town politics is tough, they're all thankless jobs.

The most qualified person for mayor is, without a doubt, Kevin "Root" Myers!

can't we keep the children off of here?

the above happy voter is a fake and i'm guessing about 10 years old.

choose whom you want but look into the "facts" yourself, don't trust either side and I'm going to guess the same results as the last TWO elections will occur.

sniffy whats the problem, i asked that everyone not believe you or me. I'm hoping they do their own research like i did and if the do, I suspect the vote will be the same as the last TWO elections.

What research did you do to reach this conclusion, Baldwin?

- My observations - the city streets with the expection of where they can dig money out of someone else or state are going downhill fast.
- Both City parks have lost their luster. I can see the same with the ballfield at the Legion.
- Business growth on Main Street is at the least at a standstill and at the most completely unimaginative; despite the fact the people do want to come here. Drive down Main on a Friday night.

The mayor's main theme - those three little letters that I won't even say although they nearly rhyme with gift wont help. as more and more studies are being done the results are coming back that they do not help in the long run; they are only a short term solution. Look at the one on the other side of Route 3. The roads are not being repaired, new businesses are hesitant to come in, because the taxes are being paid to the developer any longer and what little maitenanec that was done, is now falling back to the city. The whole layout screams poor planning because, well there was no planning. OK taht was befoer your time, but the results don't bode well for any other GIFt. Phase two - after the motel and the CVS move.....crickets. The BIG project and lawsuit, well let's just say I don't see the bright lights of Dupo shining down on us like we were told.
There is no strategic business plan or plan for smart growth (insert standard response - "how can we plan for growth when we can't make deals to give taxes to developers.")
What we do have is one heck of a city liability risk assessment plan. Kudos on that one seriously, one of the best I've seen.

Do I think Columbia will go to pot. No, not becasue of in spite of the current government, but only because we do have good hard working people in this town who love it. If the mayor and the rest of the council sincerely wants to make this town a better place, then do what is right and get off the 'us versus them, I have to win because I'm tired of getting picked on, childish, It's not me - it's them BS! It is about the town, not about EGOs.

Yes, I'm back! No, I'm not running for office - yet!(and I never have).

It's pure humor when the anti P4C group talks about how they endure hate from the P4C group, just go back on any topic about the Mayor or incentives and read for yourself.

i have to say the quote you reference is spot on, the info should be gotten by the voter to better understand the situation and who is telling the truth vs listening to anything on topix.
