How about a can company? I might go to bars then. Cab fare would be cheaper than DUI

The metro buses are very heavily used. I ride it 5 days a week.
If anything we NEED more of this GOVERNMENT FUNDED TRANSPORTATION.
AND PEOPLE LIKE YOU SHOULD USE IT.
Never mind....you would be inconvenienced.
Stay in bleeping car!

A recent study shows that almost all bus routes in the country are less efficient than if all the bus riders were each driving their own car.

On an average day 25-30 people ride.
Seems efficient enough to me.

But exactly what is the route and by the time you get where you are going, please explain how many of these 25-35 people get on at which stops?

It's all actually kinda funny really. Local dumb police sit and give DUI tickets like candy which hurts local establishments, although it raises money for local government and programs. Then, many of these people must find alternate means of transportation IF they still have a job. This means that bus riders actually increase, bringing increased services (more routes, more buses, special/discounted rates, etc) which then brings more people TO the area for jobs than would otherwise be here. And hey, of they work here, might as well live here. Then schools are impacted, rental properties cannot legally deny tenants based on certain things, this affects property values. Very hilarious to watch actually if you can see the bigger picture.m see, in reality, local government is all about the "me", not the "we".

But hey, bring on more government entitlement programs at the expense of the working folk. Great idea! After all, this IS Illinois. Home of the corrupt politicians, home of Obama, home of entitlements and broke State financial sheet. How many seats does a bi-state bus have? I see one person get on the bus on main street. No on at the stops waiting at various times of the day and main street is the main route in Columbia. Please, enlighten us.

Agree, However, I am talking About the Bi county short busses. If you see one follow it. OR talk to a driver of one of them. They are filling with fuel at FS at intersection of rt. 3 bypass and 156 east(Valmeyer). By the way, the director (head)of the Monroe-Randolph (bi-County)transit is Mrs. Pirtle.

My nieghbor uses them several times dailey! A Veteran can't drive he's only got one eye and can barely see out the other. It is better he don't drive. He lives alone and uses them. I think if more peole knew about it others would use it more great program for people like him.

Who checks the oil? Does Illinois have an oil checker pension? Robber Barron is a good job.

OK then.
Monroe county does NOT contribute ANY support to the metro bus route.
I do NOT NEED to ride the bus.
My employer supports GREEN initiatives such as mass transit and
financially contributes to Metolink/Metrobus.

I agree that if a corporation, company, big corporate farm, nursing home, can' stand on its own withou taxpayer handouts it needs to restructure and figure out what's wrong.

It was not a hand out. It was a loan.
And we paid it back....well, kind of.
Plus...we're too big to fail.
