I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about the first drug bust in Columbia? Possibly in the 70's? Might be interesting to look into.

I heard a story about a large pot plantation that got busted years ago, supposedly it was where Columbia lakes is now. It was a story I heard at a bar so who knows if it's even true, anyone else ever here this story?

That may be the stupidest idea for a topic I've seen yet. Who care what some kids may have done in the 70's. Not interesting to me. They're either dead from drug abuse or all grown up and responsible now. What were you doing 30 years ago? And how bored are you? Like previous poster said, "Knock yourself out." I hope all records are sealed.

Where you involved in that plantation??? You're pretty intent on keeping this topic hush hush.

Well, I was around then and you are not even close. Seems like you are trying to stir sh** about someone. So go back to your Legos.

I agree w/ curious. "Not that bored", you probably hope all records are sealed because you were involved in it you loser. And I really doubt they are all grown up and resonsible now. And if this is the stupidest idea for a topic why are you wasting your stupid time reading and responding? Are you stupid too?

The guy who had the field (not a plantation) is dead. It was by no way the "first" bust. The topic is "the first bust."I dont know who was involved, and I don't care. They may be dead too. This is obviously a topic initiated to bring hurt to somebody, so if I am a loser by saying it is stupid so be it. And I'll say it again STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. And what's hush hush? All arrests were always in the paper. And sorry, I wasn't one of them.

Settle down bud, I was just telling what I had heard. I don't know who was involved nor do I care. I was just wondering if it was actually true.

It's cool pedxing. There was a large amount of marijauna seized years ago. The guy has since left town and then died. He does still have family in the area, very nice people (who I'm not related to)and I doubt they need to relive this as they weren't involved and very embarrassed at the time. Probably what you heard at the tavern was true. My point is, what is the agenda of dragging up 30 year old history. Do we really believe DARE got up this morning and thought, hmmmm, who got busted 30 years ago? No, there has to be a reason, he's after hurting somebody. but why or who remains to be seen. And "Stupid is" is correct, I was stupid to respond. Just added fuel to his fire.

Who ever was the first person busted for drugs in Columbia probably is in their 70's by now.

Yea, your probably right. Another point is that drugs were made illegal in the thirty's, who is going to remember a drug bust in the thirty's?

Wasn't looking to hurt anyone. You sure are jumpy about this topic "not that bored." Trying to hide something? Just thought it would be interesting. I have seen "town facts" before regarding first murder, first tavern, restaurant, etc. And I just threw the 70's out there as a time-line. I don't even know if that's when. If you don't like a post, why respond. Obviously you are that bored.

The guy who's brother warned him that the cops were coming to seize his plantation so he got rid of it in the middle of the night. Pays to have a brother in the right place that has the inside information so they can warn you ahead of time. Long time Columbians will know this story. Late 70s, early 80s era.
so what

And long time Columbia residents have also shown that it's obviously a non-issue.

I seem to remember the cops filling the fire house with the plants they confiscated.

Consistancy is not irony, but that's probably over your head.
