How many of you caught that the City Council passed the Programmatic Agreement for Columbia Crossing? This is not surprising now that Mark Roessler has been elected; he can surely be counted on to rubber stamp all Columbia Crossing approvals needed. But here’s what floored me, Kevin "stressed" to the Republic Times “This isn't tied to Columbia Crossing." Huh??!! Does this guy have any integrity? The Programmatic Agreement was disputed in Terry Grewe’s lawsuit against the City, and most importantly, Columbia Crossing is explicitly called out in the document. Sounds like a pretty strong tie to me.

This all pales though in comparison to the way Kevin tried to take advantage and manipulate money from Diane Smith - that makes him a flat out crook.

It has to do with the area in the bottoms...the area that the Master Plan says to "Agressively pursue development" of...and has for the past 30 years.

And don't forget, Stumpf and Row voted for it too.

It looks like there is compromise going on (oh my!).

Or you mean thank you for giving away the farm...I hope everyone is ready, now since Dupo is not doing anything. Clayco backed out, for economic reasons.

you will see the proof in the higher taxes we all will have to pay to develop this area.. infrastructure as well as increase school taxes oh and lets not forget the increase in the city budget for the tif funded development. more police more city employees all who will have to be paid with the increase of taxes. sales tax in ill is more than missouri and if we only have to drive 3 miles more then we will, while we are over there might as well fill up the gas tank since it is 15 cents cheaper a gallon for the same fuel. makes a lot of sense to me but i guess i'm one of a very few that likes to keep some money in my pocket. would love to move but the housing market in monroe county is stifled by the taxes which keep going up just to keep the undesirables out. lived here for 40+ yrs and have never seen a decrease in taxes.

Its amazing how many people refuse to do the research, ask the questions, and realize that while development of the bottoms isn't necessarily what everyone wants but that it WILL in the long run be good for all of us.

XXcolumbian – The fact that the City Council accepted a Development Agreement that 1) was completely one-sided in favor of the developer and 2) was ruled invalid and illegal by a federal judge – is evidently of no consequence to you. Whatever. But you Kevin lovers are missing the point of the question. You all do seem to understand by your posts that the Programmatic Agreement is tied to Columbia Crossing. So how do you justify Kevin flat out lieing that the two are not linked? Why do you accept a Mayor that is continuously deceitful?

I’d love to hear your justification for Kevin trying to blatently rip off Diane Smith.

I f we lose, we pay Grewes bills , if he wins he doesn't pay our legal bills cause its an illegal contract. Nice legal representation by the citys council, cheap trick: morons are we.

seems the council entered into an agreement and they should meet thier obligations. sorry but i don't think finding loopholes to get out of something you signed is the right thing to do.
I guess i'm just a person who believes his word means something.

I'll also note most of Columbia seems to favor living up to a signed contract as Mr unnerstall now sits at home most Monday nights!

Columbia charges a fee of $185.00 to have your home inspected to become a rental. maybe a better idea than living here and having this sh!t cramed down our throats. this place is sounding more like washington dc(new chicago) every minute. pay to play and spend spend spend because everyone will have to pay or else. i really feel sorry for the older folks of this community who are seeing their peaceful small town turned into a strip mall and whatever these politicians want to bring to light for whatever political or personal gains. 10 year tax abatements in the tif districts will put those on a dwindling retirement in a position to either sell or rent their home out for supplemetal income. 1200+ votes put kevin back in office for 4 more years and come next election i know 3 times that number and will personally give them a ride to the polls. commen sense needs to come back and crooked deals need to be seen for what they really are. a scam, promises to lower taxes, haha

Is it me are am I stupid. How can you make this place any better to live than what it is. No crime till grewe imports it, no crowds till legoland , thanks mayor, brings it, peacde and harmony till bergman spliffs it, tranquillity until we seek over glorified prosperity thats masked in gain for special interest. didn't hitler have politically motivated police?
