Does Fort Wayne have red light camera's?

If so, where? I am from out of state going to USF and I had a questionable light last week. I just want to make sure I won't be getting a ticket. We have them where I'm from, but I dunno if they are here.

The cameras I have heard about are on Coliseum Blvd. mostly. But if you look hard enough you could see them most anyplace they happen to be since they need to be at an angle to clearly get your plate number in an intersection.

A suggestion to the City of Fort Wayne.

Rather than justify putting cameras in to nab people running lights just after turning red (especially in areas where you may be stuck in the same turn lane for up to 3 cycles of the light due to short green arrows along with fellow drivers who prove they're more interested in their cell phone; a conversation with their children in the back seat or their make-up), why not extend the time between the one light turning red and the next in line going green? Adding a mere 2 second delay would end many accidents.

But then that would end a large source of revenue too wouldn't it.

in some places.... the cameras r placed at the light to catch the front view of the car and there r some cameras place where it can c the back view of ur car so it catches ur plate number. they also have speed dometors however there spelled so they can record ur plate number and how fast u was going thru the intersection. i was told that cops have the results within seconds.... so b careful speeders lol

Im a out of state tourist on a leisure trip to Auburn this weekend and was traveling north/west on Lafayette(27) and at the intersection of Rudisill Blvd, in south/west Fort Wayne, trafiffic was moving along real well, then the light turned yellow and instantly the car ahead of me locked their brakes to a complete stop right there.

The car was stopped even before the yellow changed to red.

I came close to collideing with the rear of the car even though my motorcycle has great disc brakes and there was a loaded semi behind me so I ended up going around the right side of the stopped car and going on thought the yellow to red light.

Just thought maybe the car driver might be over reactive due to a red light camera that I was not aware of?

I now don't see where that was the case.

So now Im back to beleiving that the driver was trying to cash in by causeing an accident collecting on the damage.

There are no cameras in Fort Wayne that pick up drivers running a red light.
Instead, any camera you see at a stop light in Fort Wayne and the surrounding area is there to count the cars going through the light.
They're tied to the turning of the light.
That according to INDOT.

Wow. I believe that the whole concept of the yellow light is to get stopped before it's red. So if you can get stopped while it's yellow, even better. It seems that everyone is in such a hurry that they are willing to risk injuring someone else so they can get to their destination a few minutes earlier. What if the person getting hit was someone you cared about? Would that few minutes really be so important. Every day I see so many people run lights. Who cares about a ticket. What if they hurt someone? Does that even matter? Perhaps those of you who are in such a hurry should plan ahead and leave earlier to get to where you are going. Hindsight is 20/20 but it doesn't have to be...
