City tries new product on low-traffic area By Chris Meyers Staff writer As budgets get tighter, the roads on which the public drives continue to see changes in maintenance, one of which in the future will be the use of chip-and-seal or another type of liquid asphalt mix with stone instead of blacktop asphalt.

I think it's just horrible how the state chooses to spend the tax payers money. In my opinion if the funds aren't there to fix a road properly than don't mess with it at all. Lets break up the phrase chip-and-seal, for one it's just a band aid, it doesnt last long and lets not forget the first word chip. I think for those who care about thier vehicles and the money they spend on them, they would have to agree that it's hard to keep a vehicle nice when you have to drive down a chip-and-seal road, it's a given, if you drive down a chip-and-seal road you will get stone chips all over your paint, which will lead to your vehicle rusting sooner and faster. I don't know about you but to me my tax dollars are being wasted and the life of my vehicle looking nice is being reduced. What's wrong with this picture, I guess you just can't have anything nice, because there will always be someone who want's to destroy the nice things that you work so hard for!
