I was reading the comments made. How can ANYBODY in their right mind think the things that these ignorant people are writing are funny and a joke. I knew Johnny Velasquez personally and HE and no other person deserves to die in that disgusting way by such a person. Johnny did not grow in the best of situations, but he was friends with my son and myself. My son is 18, and I COULD NEVER IMAGINE how anybody could do that to another human being much less their own son. My heart goes out to all the Velasquez family, we will be thinking of you while you all go through this and know that we are both deeply sorry. Terri Cordova & Travis Ryan

The comments here are really remarkable to say the least. Such heartless people... with so little empathy for others. It is appalling to think that a mother would murder her own child for any reason, that is a given. That we live in a city with such COLD, HARSH, UNFEELING, NONCARING and IGNORANT people that would mock and degrade a tragedy is beyond appalling!
These people with their nasty words, I doubt, have the sense to be ashamed of themselves for being so incredibly putrid.
If you are so wonderful... then 'Cry for those who none else would cry for" and get off you high horse.
I looked into this story more today to help my son find the funeral information. He is 19. He took the day off from work to go this funeral...to honor and remember his friend. I encourage him to do so and I am proud of him that he understands the value of life is not to be taken lightly. From the greatest to the smallest we all are important.
I do not know this family personally but I do know a mothers love. The love of a child for their mom,
the sorrow of loss, the shame of impulsive moment, the gut wrenching heartache of it all.
May GOD BLESS this ENTIRE family and heal their hearts, their souls...yes, even the mother.

May Johnny rest in peace and his mother find it.

Johnny was a good freind i new him for 2 years and then i moved away when i heard what happend i couldnt belive it johnny went through hell and back for his mother and what she did i think she can rot in hell he may have not been perfect but terri was right he didnt deserve that and any one that says he dose deserves to join his mother im proud to say that johhny was a friend a great friend and he taught me alot.....to fallen homie rest in piece and may yer soul be at rest for now and for ever i miss u man eric shortridge! and terri thanks for being there for us
