Criminalizing marijuana created the "lure of the forbidden fruit." Before marijuana was criminalized via the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937, the Commissioner of Narcotics Harry Anslinger, testified before Congress that the United States had a total of 100,000 marijuana users. Today our government estimates at least 100 million Americans
have used marijuana. This is a 1,000 fold increase.

How do the drug war cheer leaders explain this?
