Why does Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and other surrounding communities allow street beggers ? I have been approached simply getting out of my car to go in to a store. Once in Manitou I was told by a begger to give him money, to say the least it frightened me. Even at intersections it is frightening to have to wonder if they will attempt to get in your car. I firmly believe that 99.9% of them are using the money for drugs and booze. I feel these cities need to put a stop to this for we citizens protection.

Times are getting tough, people are losing their jobs
so that brings out desperation. I always keep some spare change in a pocket. I do try to help where I can. I have always believed , if they don't do the right things with the money it is on them, but I feel I have done the right thing by helping another individual. Nobody really likes to beg , but if you have a family at home and you need to feed them than you do what you have to do. People say go get help well I would like to know where. This state is the most unfriendly, unsupportive , and only wants to take and give nothing back to the people. Don't judge those individuals because one day you may have your hand out. We are all heading there one day.
