i heard on the radio that the city is looking into putting sewer lines in for the residents that are not currently connected. this is a wonderful idea i think, but i am confused about a couple of things. i have a very close friend that lives on cherry st. not 2 months ago she had a meeting with the city manager because her septic tank was full and needed to be emptied. she went to inquire about what it might take to connect her to the city sewer lines because (as we all know) its not cheap to dump your septic tank. she went around to her neighbors and got them all to sign a paper saying they would all like to be connected also (including the neighbor that was building a house next to hers). Mr. Kampfer told her that the city could not and would not connect cherry st to the city sewer lines because it would cost the city too much money to connect cherry st to cyprus a block away! he sat there and told her that he could not see that happening ANYTIME in the recent future. he didnt offer any apologies or say "the city is looking into this matter" or "it might take a while, but we're gonna get u connected!" NOTHING aside from "its not gonna happen anytime soon". But now he's gonna go on the radio and tell everyone that he cares, and he is working hard to get cherry st connected? wtfever! why the change? apparently the city is broke, so how is it that they have decided to consider this now? what is the agenda? also i would like to note the fact that he is raising the rent on the daycare building (even though mr. spencer said that the school loses money providing this public service) it doesnt seem right to me! why is cisd paying double the garbage rate from last year?(it went from $6000 to $12000) that seems kinda ridiculous if you ask me! i would also like to know why everyone i know is currently payin around $20 more on their water bills in the last few months? i thought we were told that they were only gonna go up about $8? WTF im confused about all these lies...how do we really know whats gonna happen when they tell us one thing and do the opposite?

Just another example of a little dictator who has come into town and like the Pied Piper has abducted the brains of the city council-- the VERY body who was elected by US-- who then hired him and are now scared of him. A good leader is not a dictator. He needs to listen more than use his mouth-- that is why we have TWO ears and ONE mouth. He is all about this idea he has about being a "servant leader"-- oops, he means HE is the LEADER of the SERVANTS--... or transformational leadership. IS HE KIDDING? He is transforming this great little town into cliques and battle lines and war mongering and people too intimidated by his tactics to tell him to just stuff it. PK tells us what serves him at the time. Unlike the song, PK is so vain that he probably DOESN'T realize this song is about him.

City Council gave pk ok to give another 27,000 to
motel,& to spend from 250,000 to 500,000& the Mayor was the only council to object. I have sent e-mail to Dist. 4 councilman,he represents me,of course he couldn't attend Tues. meeting, where pk is looking to outsource our water&sewer, he is using no sewer service at Cherry st. as excuse to outsource us, yet the previous couscil gave the new motel over 50,000 and installed sewer. Please call your coucil or make public comment at city council meeting, this has got to stop, council has lost focus on why they were elected.

i heard mr. kampfer talking on the radio again yesterday. uuugghh! so he's gonna tell everyone that the reason he's raising rent on the daycare building is because "it hasnt gone up in years" and "the building needs maintenance and things done"? excuse me, but i know for a fact that part of the schools contract on the building says that CISD is to pay for any repairs or maintenance that might arise! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO LIE CONSTANTLY? "its not the city's business if the school loses money providing the daycare to the public"? and the "school is gonna pay $6000 more this year than last because that is what duncan disposal quoted them"? i dont know about anybody else, but i would think that this money would be better spent on our children's EDUCATION. i dont see how you can DOUBLE the amount ppl pay for trash disposal while reducing the number of days of pick up, etc. what are other businesses having to pay? did their rates double as well? but the city is gonna tell us that they're not profiting off outsourcing the trash? Priorities are all wrong in my opinion, Day care
and children first, Baker Hotel last.BTW Ducan goes up again next year.I'm still trying to understand how we are saving money by outsourcing
trash,pk says 100,000 a year,it takes the same equipment, man power, permits, ect to keep our landfill open for type 4 pit, yet a type 1 pit can take all trash, ducan used to dump here,pd city about 80,000 a year, then dump closed all time due to rain, couldn't get down roads, site plans says dump will have all weather road,we don't,so duncan went to snyder,as city trash trucks did also.Yet we give private motel over 100,000 to build a road,
boy pk sure could spot suckers, gotta give him that.

at every meeting pk request the city council to give him power to negotiate "out source" something,
Mayor is the one to question this,pk just asked another council member to make a motion so he can,and council is not strong enough to say no,mayor's vote only counts in a tie vote, city laywer sits there like a wet rag,and says whatever
you want pk.People will need to talk to their council members to "reclaim" control.I have e-mailed mine with questions, thus far no answers.I
also asked him to vote NO,to outsource water.

what is the city gonna do with the daycare building when mr. spencer's had enough and moves headstart/daycare to kelly? mr. spencer has already stated that is his intent if the rent goes up. after the city re-named the building the "bob rielly early learning center". i dont see how you could put much else in that building that has classrooms and a cafeteria and kids bathrooms?

How do you propose to buy more water rights, take on another 1.5 million in debt like the last go round. It is the city's debt that has directly led to everying financial problem you guys are complaining about. Let the landowner sell the water and the city buy it if that is cheaper.

Also where was the money going to come from to pay for a new dump in two years if they didn't "outsource."

You do not know what you are talking about. Don't take on more debt unless we absolutely have to!

There is an empty gravel pit in Loraine that could have been bought and used as a dump by the city. I wonder if pk gets commission for throwing the business to Duncan instead of researching other options.

what city around here, or around the nation for that matter is not in debt right now? the economy sucks and thats a fact of life. so why dont we just make it worse for everyone that's trying to survive in this little hole in the ground. i dont have any problem with saving money or getting out of debt, but i would think that all of this crap doesnt have to be done RIGHT NOW. and all at the same time...it's gonna overwhelm and overburden people that are already in poverty! i dont know what im talking about? because it's too complicated for us "small folks" to understand? everyone knows about debt and just because i happen to be opinionated doesnt mean im stupid! i guess the whole country should just shut down and outsource everything, because we're in debt several trillion $'s. it's gonna take years to get outta debt, but it will take even longer if you force people to move and spend their hard earned cash filling the coffers of some other city that's in debt. but i guess some people dont give a crap about us little folks huh?

Cit will not buy more water rights it has all the water rights it needs,pk wants to sell our water, i say no and the council gave him the ok to spend
up to 500000 to survey for water, this has been completed in our
past, now when we have to start paying the company pk will
outsource our water and waste water and solid waste, how will
citizens afford this, pk will be gone,he doesn't care.In my opinion your facts are wrong, the 118,000 we paid for motel road, could do alot for water, sewer, solid waste,et.

I'll agree that it's bs for the city to have spent 118,000.00 on the road for the motel, but not for the same reason as you. The tax entities will eventually recover that money in increased tax base and hotel/motel tax. What's bs is that the cash strapped city had to pick up the bill instead of our worthless Board of Economic Development. What is the county spending its economic development money on, if not this kind of improvement? Where were they on this road deal and why is the city paying for it if they are in a hard place?

County put in around 64,000 on the road, or so pk said at council meeting Tues.
i understand pk and engineer decided a area wasn't what they wanted so they spent our money, then pk asked the council to ok spending, i do believe that is wrong.
