Who knew this town had so many snobs and ignorant people living in it? Thanks to the idiots on the Zoning Commission, we will be missing out big time in this town.

I don't think we have missed out yet, there are several RV Parks being developed. Also several water wells being drilled to sell water to oil companies and motels being built.I hope we boom,I think people are waiting before they invest money for something we can't see yet, can't fault a person for "wait and see".

It's good to see that someone else jumped into the arena for the mayor's race. Too bad it is just more of the past. At least he speaks favorably of our town and stands up for what is right!

Seems we don't need to change. At least that is the sound coming out of our elected queen. She was surprised to find out that people don't think she is doing a good job.... Hmmm... There are some things she is doing that are good, but being a supportive person of our city, she is not. She thinks riding around with her dog and spending some time with a hoe in the community garden makes her a hard worker. Being a leader is more than being a dog loving gardener.
She was thought to be a good thing when she was elected, but people seem to have changed their opinion. We were tired of the former mayor after so many years of the same old thing. But after seeing this one in action, maybe we need to go back to what we previously had. Jim, you have always been a proud resident of Colorado City. That's great! Continue to be proud. Lets go out into the highways and byways and tell people and companies how proud we are. But let's don't stop there. Lets tell them how ready we are for some change and prosperity!

What this town needs now, more than ever, is experience and intergrity. This is a very crucial time for our City and County. I am glad to see Jim Baum back in the race. With he and David Hoover leading the City, perhaps we can grow and prosper!

Going back to what we previously had is a major improvement over what we have now. It is sad that at every meeting the vote is always 4 to 1 or 5 to 1. She has gone power crazy after her election. Just because she says the "charter says" doesn't mean that it really is in the charter. She has claimed several different things that the charter says, that are actually contrary to the actual wording of the charter. Before you fall for the lines of BS blowing out of her mouth, try reding the charter and the city code for yourself. As an elected crap starter she needs to be educated on the crap she is starting.

Why change? The current Mayor puts the interests of the County over the interests of the city. Why?

Have you seen an ad from her thanking the city employees for a good job? Instead she constantly tries to throw up road blocks to keep the city from pursuing projects the city needs for survival and growth.

When did Linda become a candidate? If she were the candidate, I would vote for her. If she was out there with a jackhammer so be it. She saw something she believes in and takes the proper measures to get it done! If Jim lost his religion after the election Carol Sue found hers.

progress: 18yrs no one ran against Baum, there was no progress. It is county that brings progress..except for mayor and fuller, this city council has assured the county and city will not work together, the city needs the county, city seems to want to declare its self independent of Mitchell County. Hiser wants to be mayor but didnt have guts to run..he hopes baum will win and step down due to his health ..hiser will try to be next mayor protem and be in as mayor by default and never run for position

Mayor knows that city and county need to work together it cannnot be anything but a win-win thing..how much money could have been saved, if city police had located in law enforcement center, why wasn't this considered...city hall felt they needed total power, desal plant don't even get me started, now city because city hall thinks they don't need county, has missed out on gas power plant, think expanding tax base. hiser and hiser butt buddies just want to drill more water wells and have visions of selling water..that could have happened without financial burden to citizens
if city had went in with county on the desal. i don't think hiser and his buddies (baum) have citizens interest at heart,

I have read the charter and mayor has always been right..if you research what is on council agenda you would wonder why the vote isn't more like 3 to 4..Baum when he was mayor and Dakan was council
person, he tried to silence her..Dakan's staunch demand that her district have input..she contacted people in her district, her vote on council wasn't popular with baum, she was too much government
in the sunshine, the citizens were becoming too informed..this is why baum lost to dakan when she ran for major in 2009..baum's lack of open government. his news cast are edited to his views.

Carol Sue, keep commenting. No one is impressed. Just keep running all over town putting your signs out. Just because someone puts your sign out it doesn't mean they will automatically vote for you. Lots of people have said they only let you put your sign out to shut you up and get you to leave them alone.

If our current mayor is so good with promoting good working relationships, why has the city gone through 7 city managers during her term?
Remember Shutt was there when she came in, then Graham, Maddox (1 month), Catoe, Kempher, Angell and now Hoover. It sounds like she has problems with getting along with anyone who doesn't agree to her demands.

surely you jest when you say you have read the charter... did you read where it says MAYORs job is to presides at meetings.. it says nothing about running city hall, giving out commands like a drill sargent,
nor trying to use her power/title in any way she can! Get Real !
If you think baum tried to silence her, and PK had pd come in to silence her, what does that tell you? duh !!!!
