Shucks.......where in the heck did you hear something like that?? That is about the dumbest rumor I have ever heard of!!

Get Real...you must be one that goes to the coffee drinkers tables, they KNOW everything or think that they do.....and I have to say, no, you're not Keith Hiser, he would have written more intelligently than what is written here.

Gimmie a break. Wasn't mice and rats one of the reasons used to justify tearing down buildings. Well, where did they go when the buildings came down? Did they move to Loraine? Do you have mice?

The town is cleaning up and looking a lot better.

"I think they have been so busy knocking down buildings and trying to turn every lot into some sort of park that they have lost sight of actually maintaining the city..All that demolition costs money....money that might have been beter spent getting wells up and pumping. Time will tell..."

I totally agree....time to get working on the water situation and worry about demolition and cosmetic issues later. You would think the Mayor/Council/City Manager would have enough sense to realize that, but doesn't seem that way.

What have I said that made you so angry KNOW THE FACTS? Why take a personal cheap shot? I guess some people just can't handle an opinion different than their own.

Shucks, I agree with you about the wells. Now that problem has come up it has to be taken care of first.(I just hope they come up with enough money to do both).

KNOW YOUR FACTS didn't you say in your first post that one of the major accomplishments of the past City Council was "getting water for the city" and that "our city doesn't have to worry about that, like other cities"? Where were you on that one? Again, it seems that you don't know your facts.

Cheap shots are dealt at people who deserve them, and if anyone does it is you Get Real...someone who KNOWS it all! It's fine if someone has a different opinion, its just that I dont agreee with ANY of yours! They smell like the mice and rats that running from the demolition!

What I am wanting to know is exactly how this new dumpster thing is going to work out. Kampfer said it would be 2 houses to one dumpster. Now we are hearing it's actually going to be 4 houses to one dumpster?

How it works will depend on the size of the dumpster. If they are small four houses will be too much, if they are large it will work fine with two or four houses. Just watch the fifth house down from you and make sure that person knows which dumpster to use. Most dumpsters have a 1 1/2 inch drain in one corner for rain water to drain. Be sure and plug it with steel wool. That will keep the rats and mice that escape the demolation from sitting up camp in your dumpster. Wait, do not plug it, let them haul the mice and rats to the dump ground. I hope you will find this information helpful.

Yes, I do know for a fact that the Monroe's think that Main Street has been good for them. Just ask them! I guess you failed to read how I said a grant works. You have to finish the job and give Main Street a paid invoice. It doesn't matter how much money they spent on the inside of the building, the grant is for the facade.

Again, by your own account, the Monroe's haven't received any money from Main Street for the work they've done. It's obvious that over the course of the past few years they've poured tens of thousands of dollars into that old building, yet no one has stepped up and actually put money in their hand to help get the outside done. You work for years but can't get over the hump to get a little grant. Seems pretty shortsighted.
Movie parties are great but they are gone the next morning. It sounds like you need to ask round for the truth. Do the Monroe's think that Main Street has been effective for them? I doubt it. Sounds like you're a former director or something. Naturally, they are nice enough people they wouldn't say anything negative to you if you are. After reading these post I can bet that all of the negative comments are coming from former council members, former city managers, former mayors, former main street directors, their spouses or their family and friends. Get over it.

Reading these post makes me sad. Seems like a whole bunch of petty people who like to complain and bring down an entire community. THAT GOES FOR BOTH SIDES OF THE ARGUMENT. Why don't you all try to focus on some good things rather point fingers at each other and try to convince yourself that you know anything about everything. If the City manager or a council member has done something to personally upset you, let it go. Put your efforts in a positive direction.
Volunteer, work to clean something up, run for office, anything. Do something good, rather than make us all look like a bunch of assholes, living in some sort of rat infested sewer.
It's just not the case. Good things have been going on for years now and more good things are taking place now. C-City is on the way back up. People are working harder than they have in a long time to make a difference. Our downtown has new shops and businesses. I went to a play at the Opera House the other day. They've done amazing things there. Cecilia Scott did a great job promoting downtown. From what I can tell, it seems like this new girl Amie Wood has a lot of good ideas and good intentions also. It seems like every week a new program is being talked about in the paper that will help our shops and downtown. The old city council obviously worked hard to get the town in good financial shape. Jim Baum is a champion of our town. Carol Sue Dakan works harder at fixing things up than anyone else I know. I'm glad they got rid of Steve Shutt he was an idiot and basically a prick. Zane Graham seemed like a nice guy, he just couldn't get along with the new council. That's both their faults. Pete Kampher seems to be going at the same goals in different direction. Save money, cut waste, fix up, pay the bills. These people don't get paid enough for what they do. I don't think I would be qualified for their job, I couldn't put up with the know it all but do nothings (majority of this forum I'm guessing). I don't care what you say at least people are trying.
I don't have an agenda in writing this I just want everyone to stop and think about how destructive puking your negativity is. Stop writing, put being angry at the small things behind you. Be happy with you life and try to help make a difference.
You don't have to like a person to work beside them. You don't have to share their ideas or direction either.
I love where we live. It's a good place with good people. Just an opinion. I'm sure I'll get it next.

Well this is what forums are for...people expressing their opinions...good and bad. Just because I'm expressing my displeasure with our current administration doesn't mean I am not a happy person overall...we can all be proactive in trying to get rid of an unethical and dishonest City Manager who will pretty much ruin this town unless he is removed.

This is the first time I have been on this forum and this is disgusting. Instead of complaining, do something. Bonfire - is legal - it is the idiots and people against KCCB and the City Government that planted illegal items in the bonfire that were missed. It is posted no trash, furniture, tires, painted wood and yet they still did it. People would put oil filters inside tree limb piles hoping we would get caught. We passed on the last bonfire. Know what? You people who had nothing better to do than try to sabotage the bonfire may mow have cost the high school their bonfire? Proud of yourself? The old buildings torn down needed to be done. The historical house came down because it was ready to fall down. If you wanted it saved, why did you not start a fundraiser and do it? No you want to gripe and complain because you have no desire to help the city clean up and prosper. Yes, most of the griping is done on former city council people and former city managers who could not do their job. The former city manager left the government in a mess because he could not do his job. Too much time needed to play.

Wildone, This forum is to allow people to express their opinions, just as you have done, you dont think some of your post isnt complaining? Anyone can voice their concerns, it doesnt mean many of us here are sitting around complaing, you would be surprised to find out what a few of us here do for this
town. I will say if something was planted at the bonfire, that is hitting below the belt. I am happy that at least limbs and untreated lumber can be burned. In all the years I have lived here, I have never seen such vindictive people living in this community! Young people....all the way to retired people, I dont where or what got us on this path, but it makes for an ugly town.
