This crash was horrific. it was in front of my house. He should go to jail with his parents for a good long time. Another example why teens should not hve licenses!

It seems that alcohol is too freely available to underage drivers. We need to find out who is supplying the alcohol and make them responsible.

I think they need to punish teens who drink and drive....the parents can't take the blame all the time. It will teach them early that there is no tolerance for drinking a driving.

Hmm, 17 years old - drunk at 11:30 PM in a new honda with another 17 year old girl - do parents care what their kids are doing - and I assume on a school night.

the view that all teens shouldnt have licences is a complete joke. because a couple bad seeds cause problems doesnt mean all teens are bad. overall the young man is lucky that the girl wasnt killed on his act of selfishness and stupidity. I believe senior citizens are more dangerous on the road sober than a drunk teenager. so maybe a sobriety test should be taken for senior citizens everytime they get behind the wheel.

skypilot, how would you know what kind of car the person was driving? And does that matter? How do you know if the parents even knew that their child was out drinking and driving? Maybe they had to work or they thought their child was at a friend's house staying the night. We all know how clever these teenagers can be?

I couldnt agree more with you, teens are always having having thins bad said about how they drive, yes you often hear about them so of course and teens think nothing can stop them, but senior citizens are no better when it comes to driving, they should have an age set like 55 or 60 where you need to take your driving test again cause i'm pretty sure alot of senior citizens would be losing there driving rights. So lets not just give the teens the hard time they just choose to make stupid choices and sadly there families get the worst of it

Yup im back, The reason sky pilot knows about the car is it was shown& talked about on the news. Where did he get the booze, home? was his dad allowing him to drink? Why did'nt the girl wait for her friends like she was suppose to. Lets not condem all teens because of a few .

What good does it do to bring up the past convictions of the drivers' Parents? They were not the ones in the car driving and you can not blame a child for the actions of their parents. Do you blame your parents for any of your failures? This is a tragic situation for all involved. Why try to make it worse!

I never said that I blame the parents. It's completely his own fault. I said he should be punished for his crime though!

And "Let's Be Fair" I was just giving my opinion. No one said that you had to agree with it. Perhaps one day when you grow-up you'll realize how serious drinking and driving is!

You cant blame the parents, teens can get stuff whenever they want wherever, i'm 20 and half the stuff i've done my parents where never aware of you tell them one thing and do another, of course i was never stupid enough to drink and drive or get into the car with someone that has been, i've lost a friend and family members because of drinking and driving and the only people that can be blamed are them, it harsh but is the truth. Parents half the time dont know whats going on and if they did have a better understanding they wouldnt know what to do.

My daughter was home in bed (18 yo) where she should be....but of course, these kids are friends of hers and she is very upset. Not all teens are irresponsible. There are alot of really great young people. You would think with all the Colonie kids who have passed away in the past few years (Anson Breen and the Mirabele boy) that these kids would realize that they are not invincible. One can only hope other kids learn something from this tradgedy. Prom season is coming. We should all say a prayer that these 2 kids are alright.

his father is not in jail for one.
for two, yes it was a bad decision to drink and drive.. but hes not the only teen whos done it. do you know how many other under-age teens drink? and im pretty sure theres about 5 out of 10 that make the choice to drive.. he probably wasnt thinking about the consequences of his actions.. joes a great guy, and shouldnt have all of these things said about him, and his family because of one bad choice.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Capricorn

You're in a very generous and kind frame of mind today, and you'll go out of your way to help others if you think they need it. You might donate some money to a good cause or decide that charity begins at home. If you're buying gifts for some of your loved ones it will be difficult to know when to stop, because you could easily get carried away.
