you aren't the brightest when it comes to police work, Just cause you know the color or the vehicle thats clearly sticking out of the water and the style doesn't mean he did it. thats why we have investigators to do the work

Did they ever find out if the car was the General Lee? Or if the body was that of Gen. Robert E. Lee? Also, how much gas was in the tank?

You people need to get a life. There is someones son/daughter in this vehicle and you are making jokes about it. Would be terrible if you find out it's someone in your family. Lay of the hard stuff, it makes you stupid.....

I'd think the antenna being broken is probably a result of it hitting water or something in the water hitting it. A broken antenna doesn't hide a whole car

This could be a horror story. Off the bridge, into the water for an unknown period of time...

some things about this story ...

it was close enough to the surface to spot windshield wipers, so anyone conscious could have gotten out of the car.

someone stated the red car "hadn't been submerged that long" yet the body is so decomposed identification is nigh impossible.

broken radio antenna to hide car? so what, did it float up so wipers were visible?

no one been listed as missing lately? Surely there were tags on that car so how hard to just start there?

has there been news updates? was the car on the "bottom" of the river or is it that shallow? is there road access to get a car down there?

more information please, if you are going to do a news report.

Times Dispatch reported that the owner of the car thinks her ex boyfriend, he stole her car in 2004 and she reported it to the police at the time. They spoke with his family who said it could not be him because he has been in prison since 2004 and though that had noe visited him they had sent him money and letter. Police checked with the prison and showed the family a photo of the person in prison and the family realized it was not their family member, just someone with the same name. They are saying now the car has probably been there for 7 years! Crazy
