Richmond City provides few services and next to none anything else to impose any kind of restriction....Although, I would be the first to admit that rain has been scarce,,,,as has been anything else involing the city over the past several decadess. No exageration; look at the annexed areas...broken' the dolla'.

This is an El Nino summer. It will be hot and dry.

Every year people have to be told to restrict water use...sheesh, coming from the left coast, we just knew!

Private residence and businesses could have been saving a little every day during the spring, and cutting back even before this "news", but everyone 'needs' their inch high wasteland of green, even if it means draining the aquifer.

Just another symptom of thoughtless "me-ism" and self-centredness. Start landscaping with drought tolerant plants and turn the dang sprinklers off!

Mia- it isn't always like this though. Sometimes in va we get plenty of rain. I can think of many summers where it seemed like we mowed our lawn every other day because it rained so much! A dry summer isn't a given here, and drought tolerant plants wouldn't likely do very well in a wet summer!
