well when I was jumped by 10 African Americans in high school, in Hampton Roads, b/c I had f'd up by walking by myself, and called a stupid white boy with much hatred, I would say there is not much difference. But you know what I don't blame all African American for their actions, the same way you should not generalize white people the way you do. It was my African American friends that promised me I never had to worry again, b/c they knew me as a good person. Would you be embarassed of your posts if you knew your pastor at your church knew what you are saying on here? Come on HG, paramedics are conspiring to kill black men! I've read many of your posts on different boards. While I will agree with you that racism is alive and well (on both sides), you are a race baiter. It is human nature to take defense on such things as race. You are not helping the situation. Sorry, just calling a spade a spade.

Individuals in history must be judged in the times they lived in. Practically all of the founding fathers had slaves, and more than likely they had sex with them. That's just the way it was. Relations with slaves were not viewed as even sinful. No doubt, many children were born of these relationships. Thomas Jefferson was one of our greatest presidents. His thoughts and actions on U.S. expansion were visionary. Consider the Lewis & Clark Expedition and Louisiana Purchase. The slave stuff was no more or less than what other upstanding citizens were doing in those days.

The historical record, including the testimony of Madison Hemings, who was Jefferson and Sally Hemings son, as well as Jefferson's slaves Israel (Gillet) Jefferson and Isaac, suggests that Jefferson was almost universally kind to his slaves, gentle and caring for their needs and feelings. The utter lack of violence on Jefferson's part in the historic record suggests to me that he was more than likely in a loving relationship with Sally Hemings -- who, by the way, was the half-sister of Jefferson's late wife and only one-quarter African.

1. The Southern states were the FIRST to create anit-slave societies.

2. Thomas Jefferson's plan for our states was agrarain...not industrial and merchantile...bless him for his Godly wisdom which was tragically brought to demise by President Lincoln's and six northern industrialist's cooperative plan to destroy the South's competitive economy and jump-start their empire-building via their industrial complex war of Federal aggression against the Southern states that had very Constitutional justification to leave the voluntary assemblage of American states. But, of course, this is not politically correct history and thus you would not know of it.

3. Without even knowing the so-called facts, I am certain Thomas Jefferson could not ever have even entertained an idea of 'raping' Sally Hemmings. If anything at all, his morals would have made that an impossibility. It was more likely mutual admiration for each other. If anything, you/we could accuse him of infidelity, if his wife was still living...and of that I do not know. This unsubstantiated and repeated accusation of rape is a travisty against his charater and a glaring sign of bitter ignorance in the person who suggests this notion.
As a notherner who has spent several years to date in the study of the socialogical and military 'civil war' period...and other than the mainstream, nothern government-biased tales of this period....I have been gratefully enlightened on the noble heroics and purposes of the Southern fight for their 'Second War of Independence'. All Americans have been told the"victors'" history of this time and it is to the detriment of our liberties. We do not understand that "history is written by those who have hanged heroes". Such history is all we can expect of our reigning northern, all-encompasing multi-national military-industrial complex central federal powers. But then, we only get what we vote for....out of our great ignorance.
