Reagan should be carved into Mt. Rushmore as far as I am concerned - he was far from perfect but....

I agree that socialism is not the same as communism. The difference between them is communists carry a gun and socialists do not. In that respect socialism is different than communism, nazism and islamism but only in the respect. Politically and governmentally all four are the same, cradle to grave government control of one's life. The difference between the gas chamber and a pill is a pill can be carried in a pocket. Liberalism, Socialism, and Communism are the cancer of any social progress. All 3 seek to take away from those who acheive more and then give it to the next person. Everything you acheive is supposed to be for the communal good , not the personal gain. The first problem with these philosophical choices is that there always occurs the "elite" class - which sets itself apart from the communal rules. The second is that it destroys the ambition of all involved to acheive more , because all reward for doing so is removed.

You take a test in school - and ace it. The dunce beside you came to school stoned and made a 50 on it. The teacher graded on a curve and since no one can be "left behind" - you both get a 75.

You worked your tail off mowing lawns this summer - the guy you worked for hired another guy who mowed half as many lawns - but you both made the same wage (must have been a union job).

Perfect examples of Liberalism, Communism, and Socialism.

Capitolism isn't perfect - but I have NO PROBLEM with the "if you don't work - you don't eat" philosophy. Charity begins at home - not when the government or someone I don't know starts picking my pocket.
