Town Council 2-14-13 video

This was just a test run for me, but I recorded the 2-14 council meeting. Yes, some heads are cut off, the video quality isn't great (due to having to compress the video to a smaller type.) If it gets more than a few views, I may invest the time and money into a decent tripod, so I'm not recording either, on the press table or by hand.

Any thoughts? I am doing this on my own accord, although I do write for the Westmoreland News on Colonial Beach.

I sent you a topix mail, but the improvement over the previous sound recording deserves public recognition. Your doing a GREAT job from all I can HEAR :) Keep up the good work :)

Susan,

I would watch it if you go through the trouble of filming it. I will even donate a very good tripod to support the cause of recording Government so Citizens have access to viewing when they are unable to attend.

I believe the recording of the town council meetings would be very helpful, informative and appreciated.

Great job! See Rick to see if we can help you out with a new tripod, etc.

He is a business guy with friends in different companies so he might get a good price.

I thought they were on the Journal website.

I have been recording these for months, for my personal use, as the sound is so much better on this than on my sound recorder.

I'm glad that some have gone to view it. As it seems there is an interest in this, I will continue to do so.

John G, I'll get in touch with you, as avoiding extra expense would help me out.

Anyone who doesn't post here, but has any ideas, thoughts, etc, can email me at suzypietrassmith @ gmail.com

(take out the spaces in the email address.)

The Journal is no longer recording the meetings. CB has been working toward doing so, but Kathy is out recovering from major surgery.

Thank you for the feedback. Again, I am doing this privately, although I do write for the Westmoreland News.

Do you have the recording of the January meeting? If so, will you please post it? Thank you.

I will look to see if I do, but I do not keep them long as my hard drive is jam packed with pictures and videos. I'll post a link if I do have it.

Susan, this is wonderful what you are doing. I can not attend all the Council meeting and this is a great help keeping up with Town business. Keep up the good work.

Great job. You are to be commended for taking the initiative in bringing meeting videos to CB residents after The Journal Press discontinued the service. Thank you.

What happened during the "closed session" during the last council meeting? Wanda mentioned something about a potential lawsuit.......

As the sessions are closed, we do not know what happens during them. This is completely within the Virginia's FOIA laws and regulations.

Also, unfortunately, I do not have January's meeting any longer. It was dumped when I dumped all the old pictures.
