I have been going to the boat for over 10 years. The service has gone down hill so far that it will never recover. The management just doesnt care anymore. The waitresses andwaiters want to socialize with all of the people. There is no more service. Mobs of people in the parking lot doing whatever. Kids of all ages running around inside and outside. PD need to start patroling the parking lot and the ABC needs to start checking for underage drinking. Some bartenders are just rude to the patrons. I hope the new investors clean house because the current establishment is letting the employees run the real patrons away.

Anything new about the slots?

My husband and I have been there several times over the last two months. We have not seen any of the things outsider is talking about. The waitresses have been more than accomodating especially when they are short staffed.

Looks like it is stuck in committee. With the big push for National Harbor gambling, it seems unlikely that this bill will reach the floor for a vote.

I would be interested in what kind of lobbying is going on. Since the National Harbor bill has a lot of opponents due to its proximity to Rosecroft, the Anne Arundel facility and the Baltimore Casino, it would seem that CB would be a better alternative to the Harbor site site. Far less impact on the casinos already permitted.

Sounds like "outsider" played the horses, Keno or whatever and lost his money. We have eaten at Riverboat many times and it is fine and the staff is very accommodating. "Outsider" must be remembering the Old Reno in its bad days...there isn't any problem outside of Riverboat but what happens on the boardwalk is not due to them. The hang-arounds on the beach front cause problems rather than work and be productive....

Abc should definitely be called . I was there a few weeks ago and the bartender served someone to the point that they had to be carried out .Then the girl was falling down in the parking lot and the employees were trying to get her in the car. this happens all the time there and has been going on for years. The management sets a good example when they sit at the bar and get so drunk they have to be helped out and driven home. Management has even gotten a D U I after leaving there.

We have enjoyed a number of good meals at the RiverBoat during the dinner hour and had excellent service. The prime rib is particularly good and the views of the river are superb. Decades ago, we purchased our pizza from Reno Pier - it was the best pizza in town. Good times...

We were there Saturday for the comedy show . A guy was sooo drunk he fell asleep at the table behind us . They only removed him After the comedian started picking on him.We waited more than 45 mins for our food to be served and I had to go to the bar myself to get our drinks. Not great for repeat business!

the food is good and the comedy is free and darn good... just as good as comedy central lots of comedians from DC and Baltimore....they Could use some more servers but those that are there try their best....You have to give credit to the boat for the entertainment they offer... The idol and comedy .... the poker.. karaoke... sure they aren't perfect but the place brings lots of folks to the beach..I like it there myself...

Riverboat trash dumpster overflowing from the weekend festivities and blowing across parking lot towards Town Hill today. I wouldn't have put it out here but I phoned for manager and was left hanging. It's just not fair for CB PW to do the clean up. Manage your dumpster better because it's not the first time.

Riverboat has such huge potential and I don't wish the owners any ill will, but the four times I have eaten there the food was sorry to say just awful. Why can't the owner get a real chef, pay him real money, and have a eatery that will more than pay for itself? Or, why not make a deal with Hard Times Cafe and let them take over the Potomac Room? You would have people waiting in line to get in. If you watch shows like Man v Food, you see these incredible eateries with great food, large portions, and I am sure big prices, I think, why can't someone around here (Colonial Beach) establish a place like that? In Maryland you can find these hidden jewels, but I have yet to find one on the west side of the Potomac. I live near Indian Head and there are three places that are to kill for. Come over and try them sometime. Dale's, Grinder's and George's fyi. Good luck Riverboat!

Perhaps you should visit Alexandria and/or Arlington; they are in VA, on the west side of the Potomac.

Excellent suggestion. Do you have any favorites that you know of in Alexandria? That is the closest to where I live.

Check out King Street, goes from the Potomac waterfront westward. Many restaurants. This season is a good time to stroll and check out menus.

Riverboat has had the same owner for two decades. That is a large establishment with a variety of businesses under one roof; Off Track Betting, Keno, VA & MD Lotteries, the Restaurant, the Liquor Store, etc - not an easy one to manage - not by a long shot. The place may not be perfect; no place is. However, I am thrilled they rebuilt Riverboat after Isabel vs. taking the insurance money and fleeing Colonial Beach. Thank you Riverboat owner. If you are not a fan, visit one of the other establishments in town - there are many from which to choose. Happy Mother's Day!

Yet again we allowed ourselves to be subject to rude wait staff at The Riverboat this past Saturday night. When I complained about our waitress( who by the way hassled the comedian for more than 10 mins during his set) I was told that they couldnt put her in the Potomac Room . When I asked " why Not" I was told because she is Rude! Why do we have to get shoddy waitstaff because its a FREE show. We by food and drinks just like evryone else. And we allows bring friends ( Saturday there were 9 of us)Its time to realize that the current Owner is unable or unwilling to put the effort into the business the way her husband did! At least then we were treated with respect and courtsey due us as paying patrons of their establishment!!!
