I was approached yesterday by a women named Teresa Davis. I was insulted because she told me my yard was "an eyesore. And that I had 30 days to "clean it up and get rid of the junk." I feel threatened and embarrassed. But most of all, i feel she was rude. Let me know if I am the only one. Thanks. When I tried to tell her that i lost my husband in Oct,she would not budge.

Do you need help with the yard? If you can wait till mid April, I'll pitch in a few hours to assist as needed. Sympathize for your loss.

You are not the first to complain about the shitty attitudes of many of the newer town employees. It makes us long for the days of Andy Anderson, Bertha Boyd, Barbara Goff and many others in the past who did their jobs with a smile. The small town feel has now been replaced.

Dear Jon G. Thank you. A response like this warms the heart. If I was not so overwhelmed by the death of my husband and all the horrible red tape that follows I could take care of my lawn. Today I am alone. I take care of this house, my daughter, our dog, the car, the mortgage, the electric, the water, everything falls on me now. This woman was so mean to me. I just dont understand. mid april id fine. we will reconnect here. Jen McGinty. My email is [email protected]

Jennifer, if you would stop being the poor Widow,
you are milking it a little to long. I know you are used to everyone doing things for you. You have to step up. You should be in the second stage. Anger. I knew your husband, its such a tragedy. He was a very nice man, I know your grief is deep.
How did your yard get in such bad shape. Step up and help your self and your friends and neighbor will help you

A real name has nothing to do with this thread. The lady admits she has junk in her yard. Yards kept in compliance with town codes never see the code lady. Please keep up the good work C.L.

Yes, code enforcement is assigned a difficult duty and it hurts when we are identified as being messy.

I have had contact with code enforcement over the years about neighbors music, barking dogs, dead vehicles in the yard, etc. So I know how hard the code enforcement job can be.

On the other hand, we are a caring town. Do you need help planting flowers, etc?

I think you are out of line on this one. If it was one of your family members that had passed on you might feel different. May God have mercy on your soul, And I pray for you. Hope you wake up and realize passing judgement on others you should first look at yourself. Let the first one throw a stone who has not sinned.

I think it is good we have code enforcement but that doesn't mean we can't be nice to each other. This lady could have been told nicely that she needed to get her yard fixed up and when she shared her problems she could have been offered some help, numbers of people that could help, a suggestion to come here and ask for help, even a simple I am sorry about your husband. One would hope we are still a small enough town that we could offer help when it is needed and still do the jos we are assigned.

To Observer... everyone grieves in their own way at their own pace,... what is that saying... judge not.....

Its about time someone became harsh with her. You really must get to know her. Then give me your opinion.
She wanted Dahlgren shut down because it made her dog nervous when they shoot down river. That was several years ago. She has been whinning about something ever since she got to CB.

Ok, lets assume she is a pain in the behind... doesn't mean she shouldn't be treated with respect. Maybe the person who talked to her was nicer than it appears, but no one has come forward to say they have had a better experience with the enforcement person.

If you haven't known this lady her whole life you probably don't really understand why she is the way she is, if you did you might be able to be more forgiving.. we all have our issues.
