Some years ago when I was still with the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber would donate money each few years towards the purchasing of lights. Money was donated by citizens, business and others. The Town at the time was also allotting some money towards lights. It was NEVER the TOWN only.

At the time there some restrictions on the size, weight & design of the lights. There had to be a certain amount so that all the locations had a light and if I re-call at a price of $150.00-$200 each.

The town always assisted in the mounting of the lights and there was NEVER any problem with it being done. ALL seemed thankful. From post nom it seems that someone always has to have a complaint about something.

The displays on "The Hill" was always put in place by volunteers and the Chamber of Commerce and ALL those lights and displays were purchased by the Chamber. ALL this has always looked very nice.

I don't try to count how many lights are burned out but try to reflect on the meaning behind all of this and be thankful you live in a place where you are allow to put up this displays.

The lights were put up by a private contractor that donated his time to do so, not the town employees.
