205 is washed out/closed at the Giddy's Gift Shop area. You will have to follow RT 3 on past the 205 exit to Colonial Beach and go to Oak Grove then turn left onto 205 back toward Colonial Beach.

Can anyone tells us out of towners if we can get into Colonail Beach, I heard the bridges are washed out. Any new on 11th Street.
Linda, I live on 11th ST and everything is fine here. The waters almost made it to the house, as far as getting in the beach, I'm still trying to find the way out. 205 at 218 (gidi's) is a washout. as far as the backroads and oak grove route, still unsure of their passability.

Stoney Knolls between Rt 3 and Longfield is open. 205 from Longfield into town is open.

Thank you neighbor, I keep hearing terrible things, not sure if my little cottage made it through the flooding.

I don't know for a fact, but if I HAD to get in/out of town, I would try Round Hill Rd. or Pamona/Stony Knoll (628). Maybe some combination, if need be.

Our basement flooded, raised the hot water tank, it got disconnected and the water lines filled the small basement....not much money cost to fix but really a bad situation. Water is shut off ...pumps working and we will dry it out and add a new hwh...YIKES that was on Taggart...On Washington the man hole covers are floating and were six inches up during the storm. We all should not feed more water into the system...we filled the bathtub and cleaned ourselves but didn't let the water out....that helps. Shorter showers, less flushing....don't wash clothes right now...just suggestions

The zombies are coming next. Isn't that what is after hurricanes, earthquakes and floods?

I always thought it was the locusts that come next. But someone told me the zombies are already on site.:)

I will say that the comments seemed to get a little friendlier and more helpful once these recent troubles started ganging up on all of us. It really IS nice to see the community pull together in times of stress and need.

Yeah, guess it is locusts. I just passed the Eagles and saw all those zombies filing in and out of there and figured that was what was happening. ;-)

I heard Colonial Beach water is good. Others areas need to boil or call your water company if you're unsure.

The plague could be misconstrued for zombies, just saying. But I am worried with all of the water that filled our crawl and basement, with the sewage pump house across the street spewing filth. I know the plague and hepatitis aren't the same thing, but....

My yard is the drain point for most of our neighborhood, so my house is surrounded by water. The worst point I think was at around 1 p.m. yesterday when the water had risen well above the culvert and onto Cedar Ave. My crawl space is flooded, but luckily it hasn't entered into the house...yet.
Know how you feel. Same situation here.

That was WAY earlier. The water did enter. There are two wholes in the cinder-block foundation for the A/C (one for freon and wiring, the other for condensate drain) that were not sealed. When the water got high enough, it filled the crawl space and entered the finished "basement". The slab for the basement is about 1 foot (give or take) above the "floor" of the crawl space. The maximum extent of flooding inside the house was 7 inches.

I hope you didn't get that.
