Where are the police when you need them??

There was fresh donuts and coffee at the 7-11 this morning and the police were not around.

I was in the 7-11 this morning and there were people laughing, joking and seeming to be having fun.

There were some strangers there also buying ice, bait, food and gas. YES you got is SPENDING MONEY.

I am NOT sure if the strangers had notified the police that they were coming into town for the day that so the police could have crowd control plans in place or not.

I guess there will more town ordinances pass this week to stop laughing and joking in town since there is NO MORE "PLAY GROUND ON THE POTOMAC".

This is in no way meant to get the owner of the 7-11 in trouble for condoning fun on his property. BUT it sure was GOOD to see if only for a few minutes. Glad I didnít get caught.

Hey drama starter! If it weren't for people like you, this town would be normal. Oh yeah, and this is AMERICA...use correct English like an American along with some legible grammar! If you can't speak correctly, then don't speak at all.

You can't blame the poe-poe, they just enforce the laws. The Beach is just cutting their own throat with the absurd laws. They don't mind the revenue the guest spend but have a problem supporting the responsibilty of the extra people. Don't worry when the economy improves they will spend the little extra money to go to a Beach they can throw a frisbie and then the town will be giving frisbie away to come and play on the Beach. Just more stupid publicity for us.

This town WILL NEVER be normal again. Sorry for the grammer. Maybe some is incorrect but YOU got the point if you have time to grade this site for grammer, MAYBE you should spend more time with the school board lobbying for a job at the school. They need help also. And you are correct this is still America. That is until the new ordinance is passed because the town don't like being a part of it. Seems the answer is always a new ordinance instead of enforcing the ones they have. If it doesn't suit the town, change the law.
Let go play a game and make up the rules as we go if the town is loosing we will stop and make up more rules.

Once we get all the complainer's, like you who do not show up to town meetings and voice your opinions, out of town...then all will be normal again.

How do you know I am not there? I was not complaining in my first post. Just stating what I was. Now it has gone from what I saw to being a complainer. Let have another ordinance. No complaining. If we have no one to complain this would be a perfect town. Let see you have complained about the public using the public park, fishing from the shore, parking in a area, trash pick up, road conditions, golf cart rules, and who know what else. NO COMPLAINING. This is America.

There were more people on the point having fun as I rode by at 7:30pm. There was a small child lying on the sand making sand angles and a young couple hugging and kissing. Guess they did not get the memo. No playing on the "Play Ground On The Potomac"

OMG Lots of people on the point, swimming, playing volley ball, unbrellas and tents to keep the sensastive skin people from burning. They looked like they were having fun IN SPITE OF all our regulations.
Oh, three kids were on the playground equipment, and not one of them was with a local parent. I asked if they lived here, thats how I know.

why do you have to say something negative about our police dept???, it's people like you that actually give this town a bad reputation by constantly stirring your crap!! Evidently there is or was something going on at the point because of the number of the citizens that came to the meetings and complained. There is no one on the council that just came up with these ideas!!! If anything the town and citizens need to complain about the reporter that only reports the negative untruths about colonial beach!!

Your comment is ridiculous. The problems at the Point were definitely PROBLEMS and had to be negated. The Town officials have done a wonderful job in assuaging them. Thank you Council and Town administrators for remedying the situation.

Those who are writing negative comments apparently don't know what caused the situation in the first place. If it was in your back yard, I'm sure you would have something to say about it. Stop the complaining and support the Town officials, and stop believing everything you read in the newspaper. It doesn't always convey the whole story.

The police are out doing their job. If you see something, pick up the phone and call. Every last call is acted upon. We're not in the UK with cameras on every light-pole. It's your turn to step in and make a phone call. If you feel something is not handled correctly when you call, speak to Chief Hawkins directly and he will correct the situation. He takes this department seriously! If you see it, report it. 911

You have two ways to go: Die young or grow old. If you are lucky enough to become an elderly person, I hope you will have thick skin to reject the rude remarks of a few stupid people. Sometimes we have to overlook those who have no concept of the life cycle.

Some people grow old gracefully. Others just become nastier old codgers.
