Has anyone else noticed you cant go down the highway without the police hiding somewhere in wait to give you a ticket? These are minor things mostly, some little thing they can fine you for. From the people I see most folks are getting tired of it especially when you,re going down the highway at the speed limit and a cop passes you like you,re sitting still, like the law does,nt apply to them only to us. The folks I talk to are beginning to think it,s all about the money nothing else. I think the police and other gov employees need to be laid off in direct ratio to unemployment. For Martinsville thats about 20 percent or better also benefits and pay need to be cut back. Not much of anyone is doing well financially in this area so why should our employees the police and local gov do any better than us?

Go to stores like walmart and park in the fire lane or handicapped spot with no placard. Here it's easy and no problem. In Greensboro the city make good coin writing those tickets. I bet the Greensboro stores don't tell the cops what to do.

Taxpayer, unless you are doing something wrong I wouldn't worry about it. Cops speeding? Yea, they have to go places too.

If you are lucky, they're just pulling people traveling through the area. In my book if cops/troopers bother you, you are probably a POS with something to hide.

You know who parks in fire lanes?
People who think the world owes them something.

There are only two reasons to park in the fire lane: You are robbing the place or you are about to *&#@ your pants.

Irvine: you sure know a lot about pieces os. There are good cops and then there are those with attitudes like yours. Not everyone is a criminal and the ones who are not dont like being put in the pile with the crooks. If we are innocent until proven guilty and there is still a constitution do we need people like you with judge jury and exectioner attitude? I say no. Statistics show that 95 to 96 percent of the population are good law abiding folks. That 95 to 96 percent shouldnt be treated like criminals at least as long as there is freedom. I think law abiding folks do mind being treated like crap especially the ones who have nothing at all to hide.

Don't worry, the local police will likely take a back seat when martial law is invoked, and the Feds seem intent on turning up the heat of injustice and violations of our Civil Rights until they cause revolt. Guess they don't realize they are outnumbered by the people, and as stated above, the vast majority of people want ordered society and are able to regulate themselves. Law enforcement should not be a tool to get money for the city, county or state.

I hope they remember who they work for and the oath they took to uphold the Constitution. If they don't recall these things they are part of the problem.

A few years ago I traded in my truck for a new on. A month or so later I got a ticket in the mail for not paying a bunch of road tolls. I did not even use those roads so I knew it was not me, so I ignored it. Then I got a anther ticket mailed to me. This time I called in to see what was going on. They had pictures of my old truck ignoring the toll booths. I told them they had the wrong man, that I no longer owned that truck. They said I would have to prove it. I had to go to the bank and get a copy of the transaction and send it the them. I never heard another word-not even "I'm sorry". I think it's sad when the law ignores the part about being innocent until proven guilty. The burden was on me not them.

In California there is a form we have to fill out called the release of liability. It's dated and signed by both parties, and the seller is the one who turns it in. It's a routine thing here and saves a lot of griefs, as you outlined one. Luckily, no one was killed or injured and it was only tickets!

You don't have a form like that in Texas?

Yes, good point, I turned in one of those, but you know how slow the mammoth government moves. The dealer owned the truck but I never did find out if the dealer was responsible for this. I mean, I actually do not know if the truck was resold yet or if someone from the dealership was using it. It was a beautiful truck, I doubt it was still on the lot un-sold.

MarkEden is just ticked off because no one really cares about his creeds or his Latin or his roman catholic church history.

:-) This just goes to show the contentions are systemic and it has nothing to do with what one faith or another teaches - with some people reason is a mute point, as their only point is to attempt to bully mentally when they are actually unarmed:-)

Someone in Virginia thinks they know more than anyone else? Must be magic water they drink back in the hills:-)

It's not magic water it's moonshine direct from the moonshine capital of the world. Of course you would know that if you knew anything about Martinsville and Henry County! We like to mix it with all that left over Welchs pasteurized grape juice.

I just realized you have absolutely no idea what the spam icon means! I wondered what weirdo had been clicking on it on these comment pages...now I know! Do you like it because of it's pretty red color or does it nostalgically remind you of the stuff in a can your mother used to feed you for breakfast lunch and dinner?

Well the local law is under investigation again, they are going to take quite a few off the force from what I've heard.
