To whom it may concern:

You are absolutely correct in saying that there needed to be change in Oaklyn cheerleading. The change that needed to be made has occurred. The Oaklyn Cats Cheerleading program has made it a priority to make the organization completely about the children, as it should be. Unfortunately ,in the past, the other organization offering cheerleading and football has made it about what adults want, not what is good for your children. We as the Oaklyn Cats Cheerleading have made that our number one priority. The coaches that make up this organization have been VOLUNTEERING their time and effort to not only teach your children the proper techniques of cheerleading but to always teach spirit and pride. We as volunteers do the best that we can for your children. Until you have volunteered over 20 years like the above mentioned coach you criticize, please keep your negative comments to yourself. That coach has been a huge influence and role model for not only cheerleaders, but softball players and girl scouts alike in the town of Oaklyn for a very long time. I find it extremely admirable that she has been so selflessly donating her time for such a long period of time. So if you would like to comment on anything that she has done, it should very well be praise! It is people like COACH DI (just in case you had trouble spelling it) and others that donate so much of their time, that make it possible for any non-profit organization to exist. With out these volunteers your children would have no rec activities in your town.

Oaklyn Cats Cheerleading is a great organization to be apart of. Every coach and assistant coach make sure that your child has the BEST experience in cheerleading. They are dedicated in teaching the girls respect, responsibility and learn how to work together as a team as well as TEAM SPIRIT AND PRIDE! As an organization there are over 50 years expierence in coaching staff. These women volunteer all of their spare time to these kids and I believe that they do not get the acknowledgment that they deserve.
The Oaklyn Cats organization treats every child as if they are their own. If your child is looking to learn some cheerleading moves and work together as a team, come check out the organization. I am positive your child will want to come back year and year!

DO NOT belittle Coach Di! She is a great person and cares for each and every one of those girls on every squad. Coach Di gives every free second of her life and dedicates it to cheerleading and other rec activities. Maybe you "Tracey" should think about why your child was kicked off the squad! Was it beause you were too tipsy to take her to practices? Come to think of it I think you were tipsy when you posted you message! Being part of a team starts with the parent. As a parent it is your responisiblity to ensure that your child attends every practice and game. If your child does not show up for a practice it affects EVERY TEAM MEMBER! Kicking your child off the team was the hardest thing Coach Di had to do. But, you were not reliable enough to bring her to the practices that were required in order to learn the routine for a competetion. Keep your bitter attitude to yourself, you are the one to blame for your child not able to have fun at cheerleading.

I know this is old and Tracy won't see it but I have to jump in here for no other reason than to get it off my chest. HOW DARE YOU SPEAK THAT WAY ABOUT COACH DI!!!!!! Just like Cat parent said, it wasn't your daughter's fault she was asked to leave the team. IT WAS YOUR FAULT! You would show up to practice drunk if you showed up at all. YOur daughter wasn't very good, but she tried her best and worked to get better, she was a good kid inspite of you. If a team only practices 3 days a week and you might show up one day, how do you expect the team to be able to put together a routine and practice it? Coach Di is one of the most caring people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. She is a wonderful coach and you should be ashamed of yourself for trying to blame her. My daughter cheered for her and she was her favorite coach. When my child started cheering for another team, Coach Di took time out of her life to come and see her at a competition. She loves the girls she coaches as if they were her own. Oaklyn is a better organization because of her. Instead of coming on here and saying how bad your experience was because of Coach Di, maybe you should start thinking how lucky you are that you didn't get arrested for drunk driving when you would pick up or drop off your daughter.

But my daughter loves it and her first coach was Coach Di. If not for Coach Di, my girl wouldn't cheered for three more years. Coach Di did a great job showing my girl all that cheerleading stuff, which in turn kept her in shape, and showed her the discipline to apply it to school. She also got a chance to go to far away places (for us anyway) and met some of the people that she wouldn't have done so without cheerleading. And the most important thing was that Coach Di treated my daughter as if she was one of her own and respected her as such that she would've helped her out with anything.

I can say the same for for Coach Joelle, Liz, Kim, and the others as well. I had no problem with any of them while my girl was with the Cougars/Cats. I wish nothing but the best for that program
