When are the Police going to shut up those new people on Lafayette Ave, who have parties all the time with the loud thudding music at all times of the night??? And setting off fire works all through the summer.... will we ever have any quiet nights again in our borough? I thought there was some kind of restriction of loud noise after a certain time at night...Please some Official in Collingdale...Help us...

I also suffer the loud parties at night-loud passing car radios. There is a noise ordinance in most towns. Here it is midnight. But these ignorant arses think they have a right to blast "music" as loud as they want, whenever they want.I haven't had a good night's sleep in several years because of it.Use to be by 10pm,all I heard was crickets. My life is changed.I have to supplement the loss of sleep with naps, even then that gets disrupted,so I fit in when ever I can sleep.Quality of life is at a snails level.Even when I vacuum with the doors/windows closed, air conditoner on,ear pugs,I still can hear those ghetto blasters! It baffles me how a person can stand that loudness! This crap has affected my life. You know what one said to me?Get a life!I said I have one and you're disrupting that life. Its my buisness if I want to sit and do nothing as it is their right to do whatever as long as it doesn't interfere with anothers. That's the key phrase. When someone INTERFERES with your life then they are wrong by law.Trouble is if you call 911 and report the offender, they are gone.Take the license number? Then I'm told to press charges.Yeah,right.How many times will I need to do that?Everyone that comes through?50-60/day!Thats a lot of charges to file.

If the cops do not want to fine or put them in jail, there's no reason getting upset about the loud noise, music and parties. I guess the mayor and borough council are afraid the so called reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will march against the town, like they did in Jena, Louisiana.

The reason I get upset is the heart palpatations I get from being shocked awaked.I have this minor heart dificulty, and when a sudden, loud noise occurs during early morning hours,I have an attack.I think thats enough reason to be upset.I moved 3 times to get away from noise. It eventually comes to me.It seems to be everywhere one goes. Can't afford to move again.Certainly these idyets(thats how I spell for those beyond idiots) can turn it down at am hours so just they can hear it.I did so when I was young.I never listened to my own music that loud,I avioded night clubs because of the loudness. If I want to talk to freinds,I talk.If I only want music,I listen t music. It's asinine to go to a night club where the music is soo loud that one has to lean into the ear of another and shout to be heard.Once I came into a neighborhood,I was quiet.Seems only I respect those sleeping.Idyets have to have their "noize"at all times, need others to hear it I guess to impress or to purposely annoy others.I'd rather listen to a dentists drill. The thought has run across my mind to buy those enormous car speakers, hook them up to my radio and blast religious sermons, polka, opera. If anything is said as to my choice of tunz,I'll give the same answer I get-"I'll listen to whatever I like whenever I like,it's a free country".Whats so impressive about loud music? It's so easy a cave man can do it.

I understand your frustration. Living in Philly I have to leave because of the rival communities shooting up decent neighborhoods.

I found 2 hollow point bullets,2-.22 calibers and 1 shot gun shell outside my home this summer along the curb to the back ally.Just today 15 teens were bragging about a fight then 2 about having their own guns. They congregate by my home.I don't know what the attraction is,it's just a row-home.One group after another. They walk the street and as soon as they are by my home, they stop, rant and rave about the fights and avoiding cops.4 a week before school began (ages 8-13) were talking loudly about breaking into a vacant home that still has belongings in it.I watched them attempt to break in,heard glass break,so I called 911 and they were caught. This is just across the street from me.Teens, younger kids that don't live here come to play around my home. Why I don't know.38 years ago I moved here for the quiet, conveinence to public trans, nearby stores-some walking distance, trash free streets, upkept homes. All that is gone. When that many years are spent in 1 place,it become your home, you feel it's your home, not just the house you're in,but the whole area because of familiarity.Your neighbors, the store owners, the streets all become embedded in your being. Then you witness it all deteriorate. It's a sad feeling. To see all you know as your environment for so long, becomming blighted.Like watching your parents age and lose dignity. For the 3rd. time.

I have people next door to me that have made themselves deaf by listening to loud music. They start at 10:30 a.m. and go through as late as 3:30 a.m.. Police come to tell them to shut it down. That only means today. I have asked for a change in the ordinance. They will be fined each time the police arrive. Be prepared to fight. I have been fighting this for a year. Changing the ordinance should help me. Loud music causes heart, stroke, cancer from the stress and DNA changes. Do fight back. Police usually will not arrest them unless YOU sign a complaint. I have finally signed two. It could cost the arses $1,000.00 each. Good luck.

First, Darby, then Collingdale, Sharon Hill, next up Folsom. Glenolden is next. Holmes is getting some. It keeps getting worse because of the Federales. If we do not band together and push the ignorants out, it'll only get worse, for every decent citizen.

I say, fight fire with fire. I know these "kids" don't like the old "real" music, so pull out the old 8-tracks, dust off those records, and start making some noise! Maybe old "Blue Eyes" or "The King" will send them back to hell from whence they came! Thank you. Thankyouverymuch.

I love that idea Paul. It sounds like some Southern Rock Charlie Daniels would be a better choice?

Its Very simple, whenever these people try to make a jungle out of your neighborhood keep calling the police. Non stop all day and all night, keep calling and calling until the police finally get fed up and shut the whole house down.

If that don't work, chances are this is a section 8 house and you could take video and turn that into the borough and the housing authority. If worse comes to worse take the video to the next council meeting along with 50 neighbors. I bet you will get some satisfaction.

Look at the bright side, scum like that don't pay their bills so the electric should be shut off soon. After that you will just have to unplug the extention cord running illegally into the neighbors house or light pole to quiet the music. Hehehe.

Why does everyone think buying a loud stereo and playing old music is going to bother us. I drive everyday with loud music if you were to drive past my house at three in the morning with charlie daniels band why would i get mad. I install stereos for a living and everyone listens to different music. Your not gonna piss off any kids just other neighborhood familys.

What is about fools and their cars? I'm tired of the neighbors and the parking. The street is a public parking space and no one is entitled to a space just because it is in font of their home. Tired and can't take it anymore hopefully I can sell my home and move out.

The police are legally the only ones who can step up and do something about this....they should do it on their own, but if not you NEED to keep pushing the issue withthem so it will happen one day. You should not need to suffer due to someone elses lack of respect!!! Kids these days have no respect or consideration for others, only out for themselves!

It's become an epidemic. Not to be entirely redundant in theme, but there seems to be absolutely no etiquette amongst those 25 and under presently. I'm not looking to blame anyone. I'm simply interested in a change. My very own neighbor (I live in a dumpy Glenolden apartment) is, as I type, blasting music and polluting my ears and my air with f-bombs and cigarette smoke respectively. It's not just his and his friends' total disregard for those nearby, but how unbelievably dumb the boy is. I chew him out routinely, and it's effective for no more than 8 days per gripe-session. He feigns remorse, offers a half-hearted apology, and keeps things civilized for the aforementioned period. Case and point: he and those like him have become the majority. Decent people who still possess a shred of courtesy are losing in number and on principle. You can't combat ignorance with niceties and logic, because those in whom we're attempting to instill these basic values are too self-absorbed to comprehend, let alone empathize and act upon them. Go America! Let's keep churning out biological disappointment!

I live in Collingdale and it's good to know that there are closet racist still in existence. It makes me feel better when someone pisses me off and I need to knock them out. First most of the "ignorant" people I find are young, WHITE teenagers; like the ones who hang out at the WaWa on MacDade off Woodlawn. Or the ones that hang out at the Gas station off Oak and Providence. I have a WHITE male who lives around the corner from me who has "souped" up this bright yellow car and blasts his music all the time. I can give you a tour of all the so called "ignorant" people in Delco and a lot, if not most of them are WHITE. So before you start spewing your racist, pig-laced, unintelligent thoughts, try venturing off that crumbling porch of yours and see what is really a problem of the white trash littering Delco.

My family has been in delaware county for 80 years and I am black.I have witnessed the neighborhoods going down the drain. It is not because of one race of people. It is because of people being afraid to raise their children.
