Kentucky Doctors Arrested On Drug Trafficking Charges

There was new information Friday morning about one of the local doctors arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

"Vilvarajah's murder charge was in connection with shooting deaths of his wife and mother-in-law in Germantown in 1986. He was paroled after spending five years in prison for the crimes. Since there are no laws against it, his medical license was re-instated almost immediately."

Please explain, "since there are no laws against it, his medical license was re-instated almost immediately". I thought murder was illegal and it should warrant permanent suspension of a medical license.

Let me see if I have this right. This man committed the ultraviolent crime of MURDER, but there is nothing to prevent him from resuming the practice of medicine after getting out on parole?

Haven't the medical board people ever heard of Dr. Shippley in England? He murdered about 100 old people with untraceable poisons.

Obviously the licensing board exists to protect the doctors, not the public.

I was a former Patient of the doctors that have been charged. I have this to say about them. It couldn't have happened to a nicer couple. They talked down to there Patients often and would herd people in and out of there like cattle. If you had a 9:00 appointment you would be lucky to be seen by noon. It was a legal drug distribution center. When I needed a hydrocortazone shot in my shoulder they missed 3 times before they got it right. I hope they rot in prison. LOL

i know OF SEVERAL DOCTORS WHILE I WENT TO THIS CINIC THAT WAS ARRESTED AND ONE THAT WENT TO STRIP CLUBS INSTEAD OF PUTTING MONEY IN THE G-STRING HE WOULD PUT NARCOTIC PRESCRIPTIONS IN THEM INSTEAD AND THIS HAPPENED AFTER HE HAD TO GO TO REHAB HIMSELF.................THE OTHER DOCTOR WOULD TAKE MONEY UNDER THE BACK DOOR AND THE OUTSIDE PERSON WOULD WRITE WHAT THEY WANTED AND THE DOCTOR WOULD SLIP THE PRESCRIPTION BACK TO THEM BACK UNDER THE DOOR .SO THE POLICE CAUGHT HIM AND PUT HIM IN HANDCUFFS AND MADE HIM WEAR A T-SHIRT OUT IN FRONT OF ALL THE PATIENTS IN THE LOBBY THAT SAID....I AM A DRUG DEALER THIS IS THE REASON WHY WHEN A PERSON REALLY NEEDS HELP THEY CAN'T GET IT FOR PIECES OF SH*T SEND THEM TO PRISON AND LET BIG BUBBA TAKE CARE OF THEM..............LOL

My wife was a former patient there.He would not except any insurance or any other form of payment other than cash. I think the IRS needs to be contacted. Once they audit his books, you will never here of this QUACK DOCTOR again!!

I was also a former patient. Dr. V. he would always tell me not to be selling my meds. I guess the guilty dog always barks first. He was always rude and his eyes always looked red as if he was abusing the meds that he prescribed. It also does not shock me that he was involved in a horrific crime.

I was a patient of Dr Vs & I also saw Dr MiMi they were both good to me. He had alot of rules. There were alot of people from Kentucky there in the office alot of them would drive 4 hours there. Pretty much though everybody that went there all knew what they were there for, mostly for pain meds,& alot of "former" patients are people who have been kicked out for not following the rules. There were alot of rules & a contract to sign when you first go. Dr.V was very sweet to me. His ex wife Dr Mi Mi was very sweet to me also. Yes there was a long wait & everybody complained but in my 4 years going there nobody left they all stayed right there. Dr V would always tell me I'm gonna have to take so & so pills from you cause the D.E.A. wont allow me to write this so he always seemed to be following the rules.

Does it not concern people in TN that KY can just waltz down here and arrest people who have not steped foot in Ky People of TN we had better start defending our fellow Tennesseans and Kentucky needs to mind its own business all those people came to nashville and they were not solicited either the crime here is what happened to the doctors they are the ones that have been done wrong the state of TN should not allow another state to dictate policy in our Capitol

I don't care what state a crime is in. If any doctor is breaking the law concerning medicine they should get busted. When people come from other states to wait for hours, that says something. If any dr. was seen putting drugs into a g-string and you didn't report it, sad for you. I hope the law will get so strick about doctors writing so many med. If one took no ins. and only wanted cash, this should have been a red flag. Sounds like he should lose his license, and they need to watch his patients to see what other doc. they will try and see. To many will just find another doc. that will over prescribe med. See what drug stores they use. This will crack down on doctors and patients both.

this is stupid i live in harlan and this sherrif that we have is not all to perfect himself....hell hes screwing a nurse practiotioner at the hospital over here and his wife just had a baby and what beats is all this n.p he is screwing is or was being investigated for writing lortabs to only certian people and also diet pills and the the certian people would split them with her!!! so this piece of crap sherrif needs to change his ways before he goes and destroys other peoples lives......

I'm a former patient of Dr. V's. His practice did seem to be a bit unprofessional... not because of him but because of his staff. I do however recall him being very strict about people misusing their prescriptions... as a matter of fact I recall several people being discharged in the very short time I was there for misuse of prescriptions or for having illicit drugs in their system. Would not have thought all this was going on.

I know the two doctors as well. I will not state how i know them, since he did have something to do with a couple of deaths, but I do. I am the least bit surprised as well. I always stated that i couldn't wait until the day came when i would turn on the news and see him in handcuffs!! He is such a disgusting pervert as well, and i am so GLAD that carma came back and bit him in his A**! He deserves to go to jail for not only this, but everything he put me through as well. I'm glad it all finally caught up with him. All of the comments below are so true. I just don't understand the world today. I really don't. Just remember doc, don't bend over to pick up the soap!!!!!!!!!!

There is always the next doctor. We have always for at least the last 38 years that I grew up in portland, these pill popping doctors been around. Get rid of one, the next day another will start up. When these patients are looking, you can bet that their friends doing the same thing will get the word around which doctor to go see. Sad, but this is all so true. Doctors should know better then giving to many pain pills. WHY IN THE WORLD after all the years of going to school would they do this? CRAZY!!!
