“We don't have the growth Eagle Mountain-Saginaw does - they have about a $390 million bond package they're looking at right now”

Looking east, Azle ISD voters have seen school districts like Keller, Grapevine-Colleyville, Northwest and Eagle Mountain-Saginaw pass enormous bond issues every few years to handle the explosive growth rolling ... via Azle News Online

Azle needs to put more concentration into improving the learning atmospher. Books, Computers, etc. When you move to azle and you children come home complaining about doing school work they have already learned from another school district in a lower grade. Come on. We moved to azle because of the country style living, but were still close to the metroplex. We did not realize that the schools were only doing the bare minimum required by law to educate our children.

Eagle Mountain Schools, Lake Worth, White Settlement. These school districts hold higher learning standards for the students. So yes the citizens are going to allow them to more.

I hear the bond issue was voted down, not such a surprise, why agree to spend 99 million to improve schools at this amount when to only request it later for over 200 million??
I think Azle took too big of a step at one time cause the poor people who own a home in Azle can barely make ends meet and to approve this type of money would only make things worse for them. Azle needs to go back to the drawing board and aim a little lower.

The bond issue was defeated due to a variety of reasons.
Irresponsible handling of taxpayer funds, spending almost a million dollars to try to obtain positive votes for the issue. Lack of routine maintenance for seven years. A complete lack of respect for the taxpayers. They wanted a 99 million dollar bond issue with zero growth since the last thirty million dollar bond issue. Azle is not an affluent district as are Grapevine Colleyville, Northwest and others that were mentioned. The board lied to the voters regarding the last bond issue and just wanted a "blank check" for this 99 million dollar bond issue. They didn't even know what they were going to spend it on, other than a 15 million dollar Taj-Mahal sports complex. The board was not only told that the money was outrageous, but the timing was very bad, Did any of them listen? ABSOLUTELY NOT! One of the major complaints from the taxpayers; the school board refused to listen to the voters, taxpayers, parents.
