I got a disturbing jolt this morning (pun intended) when the WAWA on Route 29 told me that the Kona coffee is no longer available!

Is this true at all WAWA's or just the one on Route 29.

I too noticed that the Kona was annoyingly absent. I asked a Wawa employee in Skippack, "What happened to the Kona!?" The employee told me that Kona was gone. She believed that the nightmare will be temporary and told me that she believes that Kona will possibly be replaced by a FLAVORED COFFEE. ARGGHH. I'm sorry for our loss.

I sent an email to WAWA and got this response...

"Thank you for taking the time to contact Wawa regarding our Kona Coffee!

Wawa continuously evaluates our offer to identify opportunities for improvement and allow for new or even old varieties to be featured for a limited period of time.

In light of that, we are beginning a Limited Time Offer program for coffee varieties. This program allows for exciting, new coffees to be introduced to our customers and also provides an opportunity for some of the old favorites to come back. Kona will be replaced with a certified, 100% Organic Peruvian coffee. This limited time variety is the same strength level as Kona - medium to full bodied. It's a well-balanced coffee with a rich flavorful finish. If you drank Kona, try the Organic Peruvian - we think you'll like it!

As mentioned, the Organic Peruvian will only be available for a limited period of time, so enjoy it while it lasts and be on the look out for Kona to return in the future (it will come back!). As always, we welcome your suggestions for future feature coffee opportunities."

At least they were nice enough to respond.

I rarely drink coffee, but can't you buy Kona on your own as well? Of course, you'd have to make it yourself, you'd miss out on the Wawa morning experience, etc., but at least you'd have Kona.

I think I'll stick with other drugs, which are more readily available, if you know what I mean.

It is not just in your state. It happened here in VA. At least my coffee person at Wa-Wa warned me it was going to be pulled out once they finished their current supply. I was so angry! My favorite coffee and they will no longer carry it. I don't like hazelnut or other flavors. I want my KONA back. I looked up prices of Kona coffee on the web and holy cow! I guess I am done with that coffee for good.

I hate to admit this but I actually bought and regularly use something called a French Press. I'm convinced that I now make the best coffee available. I don't the origins of the little contraption but if it the French are responsible, I'll give credit where credit's due. Now, maybe if I buy my own supply...

Yes, it's back in all Wawa's (as far as I know). I'm a happy commuter again. I just wish they would make it permanent.

KONA is definitely their best flavor. It appeared a few months back. Found this site when I was looking to buy a bag of WAWA KONA for the home.

My wife and I use our French Press all of the time when the kids are away. Didn't realize you could make coffee with it?
