I met Coach during his tenyer at UH where my son (Byron) played in his famous 'Run-n-Shoot'. They were exciting times and as much notoriety as they got, Jack was always very much a Texas gentleman. He always took time to visit with the many inquiring moms and dads. He was really something to be around. His laid back Texas way shown through in victory or defeat. I used to marvel how much his players loved him. I will always be glad to have known him and called him a friend.
