Thanks to the service of all those fine men, especially those that gave their lives believing in the protection of our way of life. It should be noted that the battle at Tarawa was also a key battle in WW II.

Well done El Paso Times!

You are the only new paper of all of the ones I read every day, that has a D DAY story.

Keep it up every year. Today's generations need to be told this story every year.

Silly to think that I could've worn mascara at this event. I was speechless and in complete awe to be surrounded by these heroes, our Veterans. These are the kinds of stories that need to dominate the headlines, not about ridiculous so called "stars" that flood our lives with their incredulous, idiotic "boo hoo my life is so miserable" famous lives. A star shines. That is exactly what our Veterans have done, and still do today. We smile, laugh, enjoy laugh and all it has to offer because someone paid the high price tag. I am forever grateful to these Veterans, especially those of the "Greatest Generation That Ever Lived." I am forever in your debt. THANK YOU.~Terri Marquez, PROUD Daughter of Juan A. Marquez, Sr, Navy WWII Veteran.

This is the only story that I have seen about today being D Day. I am shocked that this is it! I knew it was today but to only see this story is shocking to say the least! there must be at least twenty stories about those twilight freaks! What have we become? So I say to all veterans. thak you. This is a monumental day and I am proud to be an American. Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know. God bless.
