The sad part is I know the 2nd person who did this and he has alot of friends that are gay or bi including MEN! I wonder what made this sicko do this. You can't just beat on someone who is gay!
You are sad excuse to try to back someone up who has committed a crime. It reminds me of how some people can get away with crimes, because they are looked at with such high honors in their community. Just because someone has friends does not really give him an excuse for what he did. Your friend is the one who is a sicko here. Puh-lease.

The OP wasn't trying to back up anyone. Where you got that from their post is anyones guess.

Repressed self-loathing for being attracted sexually to other men is generally the cause that leads to this kind of violence. Men who are like the attackers here, generally can NOT bring themselves to admit or even conceive that they might be bi or gay.
Sadly, it is a mostly functional reality.

You are soooooooo correct! Straight men who are comfortable with their own sexuality, do not harbor any feelings of hate toward gay men. My husband and I often party with my boss who is gay; and he is neither threatened nor uncomfortable being with them. Those are the only parties he will attend because he has a great time. I am becoming a bit concerned when I see him singing Barbara Streisand songs with the other guys when we're with them. LOL

Educated and/or intelligent people are not concerned with anyone's sexuality. Sexuality is personal; and should never be an issue.

Although, I am a fiscal Republican, I hate the religious right, as they are crazy, no brain, zealots.

They got that from what the second assailant's sister claimed to the reporters. She was insisting that it was not a hate crime on his part, seemingly disregarding the fact that regardless of what the reason was, he was brutally attacking a man trying to get away from him and his friend.

Who said I was sticking up for him? I am TOTALLY against him! He is a disgrace I am sorry I even knew him. There are people out there now trying to say that this wasn't a hate crime and it was self defense.. HOW IS THAT SELF DEFENSE??? The poor guy on the ground was HELPLESS!

Awww, it's too bad we can't cross paths so I can show you exactly how my perversion works. It'd be my pleasure to have some homophobe like you try to take me on. The classic thing is you homophobes are the most unattractive geeks around that NEVER get laid. So why do you think ANYONE would ever make a pass at you? Nerd.
This is how homo-sexuals get beat - slick talking:
"Awww, it's too bad we can't cross paths so I can show you exactly how my perversion works. It'd be my pleasure to have some homophobe like you try to take me on."

That's the tuff talk that'll get you beat. Then in the end it's... "Oh, he called me faggot while he beat the sh.. out of me!. I demand justice!"

Man, grow up.

LOL, the last time someone said something like that to me, I was asking them the next time I saw them, "So, how embarrassing was it to get your ass kicked by a fag?" By the way, it's "tough", not "tuff", and its "that will" not "that'll". The only thing your hurt is the English language.

LOL... Right. I'm glad my english is the only thing you can attack-not my sexuality. And I knew 'tuff' was 'tough', tuff gay-man. This isn't english class. "The only thing your hurt is the English language." - you think that's proper english??!! LMAO. WTF is that?? Check yourself, gay-loser. Anyway... you must be a homo-sexual as well. I can see and I'm happy you get the point. Thanx, for yet another example of being provoked, tuff sexual-minority. Good for you that you're a tuff gay-man(lol). I was just making a point, but you should walk around very gay and tuff. Who knows, maybe you'll be next. And then you can put them in the hospital. Yeah!!!-- If this is the attitude you walk around with, then you're no better than the 'thugs' that walk around acting all tuff. And that doesn't help. Don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution. You need to also grow up, Mark of Chlamydia.

Say something smart next time.

The last time I visited New York, I stayed with a friend who lives in the College Point neighborhood, just few blocks away from where this attack occurred. It's a pleasant, working class area, it's by no stretch of the imagination a gay neighborhood but I wouldn't describe it as homophobic either. In talking to my friend, he says that the people of College Point are really shocked and offended that this kind of thing could happen in their neighborhood, it's just not supposed to be that kind of place. But sadly it was.

If you really want to be offended, check out this link to Towerload with a local news report. A "friend" of the two accused is saying it wasn't no hate crime but a "beatdown" that he deserved for blowing a kiss at them. He's got a Bible verse tattooed on his arm, of course you can trust him...

I really don't understand what makes these people tick. It's sad to see people have to hide who they are because of low class, poorly educated people. This is why we should teach children to accept people for who they are, maybe this wouldn't have happened if we did.

Seems the friggin' piece of garbage had more garbage friends and family defending him at the anti-hate rally over the weekend.

They are so stupid they don't seem to get that their friend beat a man almost to death. They ROBBED him too BUT yet they are DEFENDING him.

I hope they go away for a VERY LOOOONG time.
