The business of San Josť need not concern anyone in India, where bride-burning and similar atrocities are far more pressing issues.
Aside from the racist offensive remark, many people from the Bay Area who shop in San Jose do visit other countries. There is a large successful and contributing Indian community in San Jose and Silicon Valley.
How many bride-burning stories have appeared in recent news stories? Actually, the commenter should look at how the story of the month is about insisting that India take tougher stances on rape, something to be commended.

You could be right. Heavily taxed reusable Lowenthal carry bags are known harbors for deadly pathogens. I pity the little children whose little undeveloped immune systems lack the protection needed to fight off infections that are carried into the home by moms eager to please Government masters by adopting the latest fad to come down the pike.

If America can go to the moon, why can't Government inspectors be stationed outside Council controlled grocery stores to inspect Lowenthal carry bags in order to ensure they have been cleaned in accordance with Government regulations?

The issue is not padding the bottom line by relieving Council protected unionized grocers of the cost of providing their customers the simple convenience of carry bags. The issue is the health of our kids. Let's start thinking of the children - our most important asset!

Itís easy to pin the growth of concentrated and suburban poverty on the recession, but the spread of poverty throughout the U.S. has broader and more varied explanations.

Yes. You are right. The horrendous tax burden the 60s 70s revolutionaries have imposed on the American worker *("middle")* class since coming to power is the primary cause of increased poverty.

But let's look at the matter from the sunny side of the street. As bad as things are now, it's not nearly as bad as it is going to be, as impoverished Americans struggle to pay back all the "free" money Government printed up.
