Cristin Joyce Keleher,"Joy" as she liked to be called, was a very close friend of mine, she was not a transient or drifter, she had a family and many friends who LOVE her dearly, she was a beautiful person! Inside and out, not to mention an extremely talented Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist! We were at one time a musical duo, and for a brief time an item as well! I spoke at her funeral, and I remain close to her family. The truth is she was in no way involved with the man who murdered her, they were simply going to be roommates! I suppose he had other plans. The Keleher Family, Myself, and many of Joy's friends will love and cherish her spirit forever!

I also knew Chistin Joy. She was a beautiful girl. I gave her a ride home from a local bar, and she gave me a pair of dragonfly earings she had made, and a abelone bead. I will treasure these gifts forever. I have some great photos of her. She played me a cd she had recorded, and I was blown away by her talent. I could see she was a girl determined to make it in the music biz. I am shocked to hear about her tragic death. I would have gone to her funeral, had I heard about it sooner.
If anyone would like to about her, or get photos, please contact me.

One of two people found dead north of Truckee has been identified as a woman arrested several years earlier on charges of trespassing at the Hawaii home of ex-Beatle George Harrison.

Cristin Joyce Keleher, 34, often traveled by train between Truckee and her family's home in New Jersey, Nevada County sheriff's Lt. Ron Smith said Wednesday.

Keleher served four months in jail in 2000 for entering Harrison's home without his permission, eating a frozen pizza and doing her laundry, according to the Associated Press.

An anonymous call Dec. 19 directed Nevada County deputies to the area of California 89 and Hobart Mills Road, where Keleher and Truckee resident Stanley Everett Merchant, 48, were in a sport utility vehicle with gunshot wounds to their heads.

Deputies said the case is still being investigated but evidence suggests that Merchant shot Keleher, put her into the SUV, drove a quarter mile and shot himself. Blood was found on the scene and a quarter mile from the vehicle, deputies said.

Smith said Merchant and Keleher had prior arrests in addition to the incident at Harrison's home.

"In Nevada County, we've had both of them in jail in Truckee, but it wasn't for anything serious," Smith said.

Merchant and Keleher both worked odd jobs and Smith said evidence showed the two were living together in Truckee.

Hello John I've known Joy Keleher for a few years now, I met her in San Francisco at Fishermen's Warf. What imressed me so much, was not only her striking blue eyes and golden brown hair, but her voice also as she sang this little light of mine. I have it on video somewhere, she was wearing a blue hat and matching blouse. Shde then hugged a homeless man and that really blew me away, someone you would have trouble even touching.

Here are a couple of videos we did together on my floating studio in Sausalito, I have more that I will be sharing, please click the top video of my Dog Caji.....who Joy also loved and you will find our Google Video play list...Love Sincerely to a lady we all loved......she finally met someone that couldn't let her go and be free....Peter Romanowsky and Caji Dog

I encountered Joy about five years ago in Humboldt County. I picked her up hitch hicking on the avenue of the giants. We drove to shelter cove and walked and talked on black sands beach. She was very talented and she had the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. I cared for her belongings while she went off on her own little adventures in the woods. She loved the rain and would often sit in the groves of trees playing her guitar. I miss her dearly. I know she would never hurt anyone. She had a very free spirited way about her. I never met her parents or grandparents, but one day I was hoping to travel to New Jersey and visit her and her family. I will allways remember her free spirited and loving ways she looked at life. My prayers and thoughts go out to you Cristin Joyce Keleher. I hope we meet in heaven. I hope the detectives have done their job./suicide sounds very fishey to me, since the said er had a bussiness and owned taxi's and limo's. It sounds like a love triangle took place. There may have been a third party involved. I pray to god that if the killer wasn't her friend it could have been his brother. I'm very curious.
Life is short and we must enjoy all it has to offer. God be with you Joy.
Sincerely, Eric B. Williams and Simbarooooo

I've come to terms with the sad news I heard from Joy's Grandmother two weeks ago over the phone. In the past I was hoping for me and Joy to be items, but as we all know Joy's spirit and way of life was very adventurious. I wish I had kept in touch. I left humboldt county because of the bad in people I witnessed. I remember Joy's glowing spirit and personallity most of all my experiences. She was gifted in so many ways.
My talk was brief and to the point about Joy's untimely . I talked to my mother about what happened and she researched all the information about her past and past friends she knew. I will never have closure. I have also lost family members very dear to my family. Joy honestly was the dearest. I find closure hard, because there was an anonymous call three days later about the /suicide. I feel Joy was caught in a love triangle. This means there is a third party involved, that either knows the truth behind the or is some way involved. I hope the dectectives have followed every possible lead. If anyone wishes to contact me or my mother who cares about what I've expressed please call me or e-mail me. I need closure as we all need it. I only wish to understand and help in anyway possible. I used to be a security guard. I told Joy I would be her Security three years ago. No strings attached. I also enjoy positive energy and people. Now I'm seriously thinking of pursuing a career as a dectective. I still have what it takes. I know it won't bring back Joy, but it will help me find closure. Please if anyone else feels or has anyother information they can reply with please call Eric B. Williams

Thankyou all for your time. May your spirit be remembered forever JOY.

I find those last two post to be in Bad taste and extremely Disrespectful to the Keleher Family! They are very nice people, and have suffered far too much already, without this kind of Immaturity!

I was her friend in high school. She was nothing like what the media has said about her, she was a free spirit. She wouldn't harm anyone. Cristin was funny, smart and was nothing like what was written about her. She was influenced by the wrong people and unfortunately was taken from the people who loved her. She loved music and wanted to travel to find her place in life. She was a good person and it angered me to read the negative posts about her and what news has reported. She was my friend and she has a good family that shouldn't have to read this garbage. I don't condone her behavior, but she needed to get back on her feet again. I wish her peace and love. RIP my friend, Jersey loves you! So if the media would like to report something report about helping people find jobs and getting help, not BS about what isn't true.

Hi there,

I was just sitting tonight and thought gee, I wonder how Joy is after all of this time and then I saw the post of her murder in L.A She was very lovely to me and as you have all mentioned a free spirit. She had some good stories and was so open. I am sorry for your loss everyone.
