People and religion are not perfect. But the Universe is perfect and balanced. Not a mistake. It can be cold, hot, gas, liquid whatever the conditions are in that part of Universe as dictated by perfect physics. God is the Master Scientist. Knowledge will set you free, there are many scientist who are not atheist. Among them Albert Einstein who said the more he learned about the universe the more he was convinced in the existence of a supreme being. God has given us free will to choose our course.

1. Genesis 1:1 (NASB) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

At first glance, you would assume that the earth was... the earth as we know it now. A planet.

2. However, vs 2 qualifies the initial statement:

Genesis 1:2 (NASB)
2 The earth was formless and void,

A clear indication that all that comprised the earth was present, except, it was not yet a planet.

An astounding, mind boggling accurate description of dust from the early creation of the universe later forming planets and stars.

The contextual substance of this verse is astounding: Genesis 1:2 (NASB) The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.

1. While the substance of the earth was present (v1), it was not yet a planet. Exactly how science describes the 'dust' of the universe only later forming planets and stars.

2. Initially, light was confined in the earliest moments (380,000 years) of theuniverse, or as v2 says, "darkness was over the surface of the deep."

3. Literally the third portion of v2 translates, "the 'wind' of God was moving over the surface of the waters." Other articles about the big bang describe the incredible velocity that the universe initially expanded. A velocity that would prohibit water from being liquid. A velocity so extreme, it would be rendered it's base elements...

Now, if you read the article I posted, you will find exactly those three points: Theuniverse was initially dust, darkness prevailed, and two of the top three elements in the universe comprise the essential substance of life, water.

Now, I ask again, how did this concise, exact information get in a 3,500 year old 'fiction' book???

Smirk smile.

The ballot proposition system should not exist as it is in violation of how the country was established. The United States is a representative republic, not a democracy. We elect representatives to act on our behalf. If we disagree with them, we vote them out. The ballot proposition system is closer to true democracy as the majority decides.
In this case, a ballot measure attempted to define marriage. The voters approved the measure by a slim 52% majority. Now, a federal judge has ruled the measure unconstitutional. The appeals process will begin, first in the 9th circuit federal court and then, if they decide to hear the case, the U.S. supreme court.
This journey has only begun...
Has everyone forgotten that our forefathers who wrote our constitution were Christian and came to the U.S. to escape persecution? They came believing that marriage is between one man and one woman for procreation as God created the original family. Were there gays then? Sure! It was not a marriage though. Gays have a partnership that can be legalized the same as any partnership as far as legal rights, wills, benefits, etc. why all the fuss? Personally, that is about as dumb as me suing the city for building the sidewalks too close to my butt because I'm short! quit seeking special attention and get on with your life.

[QUOTE who="WHY VOTE".......... What happened to a majority vote rules? What happened to the peoples voice?
... This is just the latest thing a court has overturned or blocked that THE PEOPLE voted for.... The people of the USA are trying to make changes to better our country and the few judges are effectively disenfranchising us.
...
WHY VOTE????
We vote so that the people can be represented.
We vote to have our voices heard. We vote to have our needs met.
We, as you put it, to try and make life better for ourselves.

There is something very disconcerting about the majority voting on the rights and privagles of the minority.
The problem with "majority rules" is that the minority is not represented and their voices not heard. They don't get what they want or need, but only what we choose to give them - nothing more. It effectively silences them by preventing them from fully participating in the voting system.
This is especially true when the law specifically restricts[\b] their ability to have their needs met.
The courts SHOULD have the power to do this. It keeps the power balance in check, ensures that ALL citizens are represented, and prevents the majority from turning into an oppressive mob.
