Even a moron knows if you are responsible for a great number of people, you keep a head count before departing to anywhere...

No one can be perfect yes, but you'd think when dealing with your CHILDREN you'd take all the precautions necessary to make sure nothing happens to them...especially something as simple as making sure they're all with you!

My daughter talks too much, I'd notice her missing LMAO!

Yes, this was an innocent mistake (the parents were tired *rolling eyes*) but, I agree with Dragon, they need to take a head count at every stop! I am surprised tho, that none of the other kids noticed him missing...

I'm glad he is safe and sound.

If they are anything like those one people who have their own show on Discovery then they probably delegated the head counting to one of the older ones, who didn't do it. You can only rely on a child or teen to be responsible for so much.

People like this are the reason everywhere is getting too crowded...No one should have the right to have that many kids.

I was thinking the same thing about my son ... I have to agree if I had that many kids I would be counting heads especially leaving an Interstate rest stop ... I was wondering why one of the other kids didn't realize he was missing also

Sounds like the common sense thing of performing a head count was not used. I can't see how you could leave your child whether you have one or fourteen.

When I was a kid, my folks left my brother behind accidently at a gas station when we were traveling back from California. He had taken so long to take a dump, we forgot he was still in there. Yes, it was late at night, and yes, I'm sure my parents were very tired. My mom realized my brother was missing after about 30 minutes down the road & we had to go back for him (darn it!). He was still in the restroom when we got there so he didn't even know we had left without him. I was only 8 yrs old at the time (& very sleepy) and the twins were under 2 yrs old. The brother left behind was about 6. How do you lose a 6 yr old? Easy- try dealing with twins in diapers on a long road trip! LOL

JUST WONDERING TO MYSELF IF ANY CHARGES WERE FILED AGAINST THE PARENTS? THEY DID ABANDON A CHILD, NO DIFFERENCE IF THEY HAD 1 CHILD OR 14 IN THIS CASE, THEY ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE.

I'd bet my next paycheck that the parents will institute a headcount policy now.
As no harm was done, I don't think we need to tie up the already overcrowded court system by filing criminal charges against the parents.

I guess these parents dont believe in birth control, thats why the gov. should step in and cut them off.

A portion of your paycheck is probably going to feed all these kids. The parents should be charged with having too many kids. That makes me sick

Maybe they need to institute some type of buddy system, pairing one of the older ones with one of the younger ones or something. Glad the kid is okay.
