Armored car robbery turns into fast chase with shots fired and armed standoff

Armed bandits led police on a wild chase with shots fired Friday afternoon after an attempt armored car heist on Powder Mill Rd at Allview Dr in the Calverton area.

Saw this incident right as it happened since we were right on that road at that time.

With 2 gunshots fired and smoke billowing up in broad daylight, we actually saw the assault rifle drawn out and pulled back in as the perp got in the getaway car - a black Malibu.

These criminals ought to be put away - one way or another.
