This is so sad!!I guess in the mind of some people, the only way to solve a conflict is with guns. The poor woman and son try to stop this senseless violence and lose their lives.Violence begets violece.RIP to the two innocent souls who lost their lives.

no whats amazing is how no matter how nice an apartment complex is . you add one family of blacks and suddenly its a ghetto full of gun fire and violence . its the only way they know how to solve anything . im not saying that complex is nice,i never heard of it, but ive seen it in nice complexes .thats why people move out when one black moves in'because they know more is on the way and gunfire and violence is right behind them .
and all of you that read this and disagree know damm well im right . wherever they are violence is sure to follow .

What is sad, is Wayside Mission took over the Motel on Broadway and the first night, 83 families moved in and only pay 1cent per night for a motel room, very nice with each room having a TV and all the conveniences.

How long will this last at 1 cent per night and how long before these very nice rooms will become slum?

What keeps people from quitting their jobs or even on welfare and paying for utility to go there and pay 1 cent per night instead?

Don't let the media tell you this is all donations, please, 13 million just for the property.

The tax dollars at work again.

I believe in helping people buy why do they need to have all the conveniences at someone else's expense?

This is what our gov. wants, not too long till you see many of these motels/hotels made into apts. for people who do not want to work.

Excuse me, perhaps you should look at the article once again because I saw whites as well but your selective sight only allows you to cherry pick only blacks from this article. Sad little man!!

Don't you do the same thing, I mean over compensate about the whine of the blacks?

No shame whatsoever, when you hear your own race say: "this is free money that Obama gave us, we don't know where it came from, maybe from Obama's stash, we love him and want this free money."

This is an excerpt taken from Detroit,Michigan where thousands line up for blocks wanting a free handout.

The news stated 90% of black babies will be on welfare sometime during their lives.

A real man would face up to what is going on and want to do something to make them more productive but you seem to condone that they sit and do nothing but collect freebies.

You bitch more about black people than the KKK. Don't you find it counter productive to constantly speak on the short comings regarding black people however when the mirror is turned on your old decrepit ass you can't handle it. If you can't handle the heat bitch get out of my kitchen!!

The hotel was bought by wayside mission to be used as a homeless shelter. The city has been dragging their feet in letting them use it for the intent it was bought. I dont think anyone will quit a job to take a chance living on the streets or on a cot. remember there are only 83 of these rooms that will be used for homeless at the penny rate. I will tell u now that on any given night in Louisville there are hundreds if not thousands of people that sleep on the streets, or in abandoned cars and so forth.a lot of these people have mental disorders or are so down on their luck there is no where else to go. Look people when u loose you forget how much u have bllen blessed to have a roof and clothes and food it is easy to forget that for the grace of God i go. How close are any of us to be looking for that 1 cent room? I have a cousin who is an alcholic. He sleeps on the streets. i have seen first hand how horrible it is. He is only one. I thank Wayside, st pauls and the rest of these shelters are gifts from God.

Richard,

Where did Wayside Mission get the $13 million dollars to buy this?Don't fall for this is gov. grants----gov. grants is tax payers money.

If you are a homeless person, why does a TV, an elaborate hotel room needed for a temporary or any help have to do with it?

As you stated we need to feel bless for any shelter over our heads.

Why go from homeless to elaborate hotel room? Why isn't a dorm with cots, blankets, roof over your head sufficient?

Even some tax payers can not provide this type of shelter for their ownselves.

I do not see GOD wanting us to help people who the majority are these young mothers with children who can work, they choose not to.

I see you mentioned the Catholic church. The Catholic church should have their tax-exempt taken away from them because the majority of people they help, they guide to the welfare offices as in illegal aliens and welfare moms to receive freebies.

So, in essence, the Catholic church helps people to help themselves to what other people work and pay into.

If I had not worked and paid my own life and the lives of my children myself, I would indeed need to keep quiet about this. As I stated I worked in the indigent clinic in Portland and the indigent hospital downtown---University Hosp. and have seen how many of these people just want to have others pay for their lives because they just don't want to.They want everything free.

I have lived in a one room apt. with my children because this is all I could afford, but I paid for it, I worked. I did not choose to become a drunk or drug addict or a career welfare mom, they did.

If the Catholic church is involved with scalping the tax payers to pay for people who could work but choose not to, this is not a GOD action. Its called cheating. Both the Catholic church and the people who do not want to work are benefitting and the tax payer is not.

Less the Catholic church does means more benefits kept for themselves.

His point is many of these people don't choose to be homeless because they are lazy. They suffer a multitude of afflictions. Schizophrenics don't choose to become drunks, many times they are stricken right as they become adults, without any prior problems. Some for sure are plain old druggies and alcoholics but many believe that this too is more of an illness than just poor self control.

You make a valid point.

People choose to be drunks, druggies, etc.

Yet, people who pay for it do not choose to pay for it.

We are enslaved to pay for people because they refuse to take action and responsibility for themselves.

What, if we all chose to not take responsibility for ourselves?

I can not even donate for the Christmas Tree kids anymore because the ones lined up to apply to receive it were on their cell phones, had cars, etc.

Homeless and poor to me is not being able to afford a car with ins. and maintenance fees, cell phone with monthly bills, etc.

I just have a hard time trusting anyone anymore.

Did you know "Dare to Care" in Louisville, program gives food and monetary gifts to Centro Latino in Shelbyville, KY which is a stopping place for all illegal aliens to receive free new clothes and shoes, rental properties which are paid for, vouchers for food till they understand on the pamphlets how to get welfare and food stamps?

This was in the local newspaper.

I read a story last year in the paper where this "needy" young woman got a coat via the Angel tree and wanted to take the coat back to Walmart and exchange it for money. It does make you wonder when you see socalled "needy" people yakking on Blackberries and driving soupedup cars booming crappy music out of them. And most of them look like they havent missed a meal either.Regarding your statement though, how do you get all these freebies from our government if you're an illegal?
