Can anyone verify that the famed vocal singing group the Fontane Sisters lived in Cornwall for many years and any details of their stay here? They used to be on Perry Como's radio show on WOR in the late 1940's.

Yes, two of the Fontaine Sisters that I know of did live in Cornwall. I did trick or treat at their house, it was off Quaker Ave, I believe their last name was Latchford.

I am the daughter of Geri Fontane. My aunts of course, Bea and Marge Fontane. All have passed.
We lived on Fontane Road, off of Quaker Avenue in
Cornwall. Only one, my mom, lived in Cornwall. My
grandmother, Louise Rosse, lived next to us on
Quaker Avenue. My aunt Bea lived in Balmville, and my aunt Marge in Palm Beach. The name Latchford comes from my dad. I broadcast the news on WOR radio for 13 years with Rambling with Gambling using the name Geri Latchford. We were a very private family, but lived very publically in
Cornwall for 30 years.

So glad I found this post! I am the co-host and co-producer of "CIAO!" a radio show in Central New York. We showcase Italian and Italian-American singers and songs. I don't see any reference to this online but can anyone tell me if the very talented Fontane sisters, Bea, Margi and Geri Rosse, were Italian American? My husband and I would like to play them on our show. Thanks!

Geri,

My dad knew your aunt Bea in LA in the late forties or early 50's. He was working for GE at the time. This was my intoduction to their music. They were great!

I have been trying for several years to find the lyrics and a recording to a song that is haunting me. I was told the Fontane Sisters recorded the song. The first two lines are .... If I Didn't have You to Love Me; If I didn't Have You to Care...... does this ring any bells?
