does anybody else object to the name 'bushwacker'? it makes me think of pro-slavery confederate criminals and the massacre in lawrence, ks.

not very appetizing at all. it's like eating at a restaurant called 'hitler's goons' or something. just saying.

What about during Gettysburg Campaign, Pennsylvanian civilians at times bushwhacked stragglers from the Army of Northern Virginia? Just saying you're being a bit particular in your usage.

It's not a term just for Confederate irregulars.

So in answer to your question....NO!

Quantril's Raiders were freedom fighters doing what they could to protect their families from union kansas that were burning their farms and killing their livestock. I got bloody on both sides.

well, i was just talking about kansas history because it's a kansas restaurant. the raid in lawrence was one of the most infamous, bloodiest events in ALL kansas history. 200 innocents were murdered in cold blood by missouri BUSHWACKERS! gee, that is so appetizing. let's eat, everybody!

you have to concede that it's a lousy name for a restaurant in kansas. it might be a fine name someplace else but not here. learn some local history. just saying.

Really??? You must be kidding. I used to eat at Dino's in L.A. and I didn't think of T-Rex. You must have more to do than let a name bother you.
