All department heads, as well as outside entities, have submitted their budget proposals to the three Commissioners for considerations. We have a law suite pending that will mean millions could be owed. We have 9.9% unemployment. We have documented exodus of taxpayers as well as employers away from the county. USD 446 had awesome open discussionís by tax payers on their budget. Donít you think the County owes us the same if not more access to participate in the debate and or budget process? I openly ask that all department heads be made available in a public forum to address their proposed budgets and allow those being taxed to address directly with them their concerns at a time and place other than during the work day. What say ye?

I think the county needs a state audit. Our property taxes here are way too high and the money always seems to "evaporate". Something's not right somewhere.

I dont get it? Everyone is complaining about taxes and the economy yet I have not received one email asking for the budget nor has anyone shown any interest in dialogue in the subject of the 2012 budget. Its as if everyone on here is content in just drooling over how to dog someone out or get dirt on another. Is the apathy that bad here in Coffeyville that there is NO HOPE? Because you know if no one speaks out then there is absolutley NO HOPE. I just dont get it?

No I do not "work" for Virgil Peck. What in tar nation does Virgil have to do with the County budget for 2012? Or is this going to turn into bash wally day for previously backing Virgil? Taxes are too high and this TAXING AUTHORITY is considering how much they are going to raise or lower those very taxes. I think that is worth discussing.

I was just asking, no I'm not bashing anyone, last but not least yes, it is worth discussing. Did I cover all the bases.

My apologies Sultan, for jumping to conclusion but I am inherently used to others hijacking a topic and making it all about an individual vice the subject line. I too am prone to go "off topic" once in a while. So if the budget is worth discussing, what is your take on our future? Do you have any input or am I on a lone wolf crusade; doomed to realize the same fate?
