At one time, I had heard Coffeyville was getting a New Wal-Mart Super Center, a Lowes and a Walgreens. I haven't heard much talk about it since the flood though. Has anyone heard any news on this lately, are we getting any of them?

We're getting a new walmart...its going out east of town . Ironically if the store had been there at the site where they plan to build before the flood nobody and i mean NOBODY could have gotten to it to buy anything. Makes me wonder what their thinkin....

so is this really set in stone that they are STILL going to build it out east??

I don't understand what the WalMart execs are thinking, but I guess they know what they're doing, since they're zillionaires and I'm not.:) I guess we should just be happy that they're staying in Coffeyville. I do hate it that they're going so far out east, but it could be worse, they could just pull out. Unfortunately, Coffeyville doesn't support businesses that well. I wish we would get a Catos or Dollar Tree or SOMETHING in our little strip mall. It would be nice to have someplace to shop in town other than WalMart. It would also be nice to have a chain sit-down restaurant like Applebees or Chili's. Anybody have any thoughts?

We will never have a downtown again thanks to the devil...
WAL-MART Costs Taxpayers $1,557,000,000,00 to Support its Employees "The Democratic Staff of the Committee on Education and the Workforce estimates that one 200-person Wal-Mart store may result in a cost to federal taxpayers of $420,750 per year - about $2,103 per employee. Specifically, the low wages result in the following additional public costs being passed along to taxpayers: $36,000 a year for free and reduced lunches for just 50 qualifying Wal-Mart families. $42,000 a year for Section 8 housing assistance, assuming 3 percent of the store employees qualify for such assistance, at $6,700 per family. $125,000 a year for federal tax credits and deductions for low-income families, assuming 50 employees are heads of household with a child and 50 are married with two children. $100,000 a year for the additional Title I expenses, assuming 50 Wal-Mart families qualify with an average of 2 children. $108,000 a year for the additional federal health care costs of moving into state children's health insurance programs (S-CHIP), assuming 30 employees with an average of two children qualify. $9,750 a year for the additional costs for low income energy assistance." The total figure is based on the average $420,750 per-store figure, multiplied by 3700 (the approximate number of stores currently in the United States). Source: Rep. George Miller / Democratic Staff of the Committee on Education and the Workforce, "Everyday Low Wages: The Hidden Price We All Pay for Wal-Mart", February 16, 2004. |

Evidently you have never seen "Waving Jimmy". |
you seem to be so full of hate!! maybe you should try another forum...like "psycho's r you". iam sure some one could offer some good loving advise to you. |

i honestly think you need to be run thru NCIC. you have had nothing good to say on any of the blogs in this area. i'm thinking that maybe you must have a criminal/mental history & that is why you are so down on coffeyville & anything that has to do with it. Maybe you need to get into therapy to work thru it. how sad ! Seriously ! |
|
i just love the way you lump everyone together. you have a very small mind. it must be so very sad living inside your head. |

you know gabriel, i think you're right. i've been looking at this guy's posts and he is nothing but negative, and comes close to criminal threat. he would run right past a person in need so he didn't get stuck here? come on, what kind of sick person even says something like that! we can be sure of one thing, he has a tiny and uncaring heart. one think i know i'm sure of just by reading his comments is that he does have some sort of mental illness. that's obvious! the criminal part, i don't know, but my husband said he looks like a psycho child preditor. kinda does, don't you think? he loves making accusations and assumptions. let's have some fun assuming some things about him, other than the obvious that "hahnstak hater" wrote on another blog. i laughed out loud!:) |

You didn't date much during your time in Coffeyville, however brief or extended it might have been, did you? It occurs to me that you have lived in Coffeyville. By your standard, you are an evil and corrupt person full of hatred. By nature, you have a propensity for stabbing your friends in the back. Am I close? Being a former resident of C-ville you certainly have many of the same characteristics we obviously all share. I have minimal contact with my hometown because I find very little of value there. So, I just stay away. You should try it. Or try dating. Or try anything to fill that egregious void eating away at your insides. Bwaaa Ha Ha. Bwaaa Ha Ha! That's my best evil villain laugh. You'll have to bear with me. Is it "bear" or "bare?" Oh yeah... Bwaaa Ha Ha. Bwaaa Ha Ha!(I'm twisting my mustache, too.) I've grown bored with the "Evil Stan" blogs and the "kill Charlotte" page, so perhaps you and I could have a cross country war of words. I could attack you, you could then spew forth vague generalities about Coffeyville and I could respond. What do you say? Dammit! We've already begun, haven't we? I'm always a few steps behind. Bwaaa Ha Ha! BWAAA HA HA!(Mustache thing again.) |

wow! you are just GREAT! i'd love for someone else to join in our mutual wish-he-was-cared-for-enough-t o-be-our-enemy bashing. i will watch and laugh with interest. i will probably even join in. are you from c'ville? |
