There is a rumor Cessna is closing its Independence plant in
five months. If that does happen, that will affect Independence

There is a rumor that Cessna is shipping as much work as it can to Mexico ... oops, that's no rumor. Sorry to interject a fact into your rumor-mongering.

Walmart Huh ? Of all places you choose walmart. If walmart in coffeyville closed it probaaly would affect walmart in indy since the walmart we had before had to support your walmart for the first 2 years it was open. We helped your supercenter stay open and that a fact.

So lets see, move your employees to another country, pay them more than they get paid here. Makes perfect business sense to me alright. Is there something we are not being told? Some one needs to plug in some details

They are not closing yet, the original plane fell through but Cessna is bringing in a larger wing to save as many jobs as possible. Thing may happen later but as of now they are staying open. I work there, unlike these other losers with first hand knowledge!

Some aren't being given a choice: It's go teach Mexicans how to do your job or be gone. Others are going because they figure it's better to be in Chihuahua over the next several weeks as Textron (and now Cessna) CEO Scott Donnelly makes good on his pledge to continue manpower reductions and reduce Cessna's facilities "footprint" by another 400,000 square feet (see Wednesday's business section of the Wichita Eagle).
