Did you know that the state of Kansas has no regulations as to where a sex offender in Kansas can or can not live. They can live whereever they want, as close to a school, daycare, church. Kansas needs to get some regulations.!! That is crazy!!!

Just found out there is a registered sex offender living on the first street next to my child's elmentary school! Not only do I agree with you but I intend to attempt to do something about it.

I don't know about the church thing come on folks really, now at a school I could see, but also I do believe that is to much power of a government to dictate where one can live. And is a violation of our amendments.. whats next telling someone with a DUI they can't live by a liquor store or a bar. We need to solve the problem and make em like bubba and the bars.
How about going after the scumbag judges and PAs who let these scums get off the hook, if we don't want them living next to us then how about PRISON? thats where we need to say hey look they get out and do it again put sentences that are strict and severe 40-60 yrs behind bars rather than a slap on the wrist.l..

and when a predator goes to jail in Montgomery county, guess what he gets to do? Look out the window and watch all the kids playing on the school playground. Yes it is true. why the hell is the jail right next to a school anyway. Atleast there should be no windows in that side of the building.

jail is only housing for less than a year, a predator should go to prison..I think some are a little paranoid...we can't build a new school or new jail house..We should not have to worry about the kids they are not the problem we need to deal with the problem thats the predator they need to learn and like bars and small cells not the streets..

There is no evidence that regulation on where sex offenders live protects children. It just makes us feel better. We should all pony up the cash for new and more prisons, and tighter regulations. Not just lip service.

Actually there is quite clear evidence that shows that if ones activities are monitored and scum bag sex offenders are told where they can live and where they can not live thier activities can be controlled. This takes a lot of money, time, and very serious supervision. This type of supervision is not being done in Kansas and will never be done due to lacking budjets and man power.
We must build bigger prisons and give these scum bags life sentences instead of community supervison of maybe public hangings would deter some of these activities.

It is people like yourselves that do mean and cruel things to others. Why don't you look at yourselves and find fault with you have done and gotten away with. You people amaze me! How can you condem someone for the same thing that you have done. Prisons are not the answer. EDUCATION is the answer. The education needs to start with people like yourselves. The only difference between a judge , a lawyer, or the person reading this is , the avg sex offender got caught. You people are sick ! We are not in grade school anymore ! Grow up.

Yeah this is cruel thinking. And just think this man is going to run for Sheriff of Montgomery County! Good candidate.... NOT!! Almost sounded "Jeno" to me, if I didn't know better I would think he is kind of racist..... but that surely can't be, he is in a bi-racial marriage... to a good woman I might add. She must be so proud.

I dont know about you, but I might have pocketed a pack of gum when I was 2, but I have NEVER done anything on the same or even remotley close to what a preditor does to a child. "the avg sex offender got caught" AND THANK GOD, you are either an offender yourself or a wanna be one. There arent too many crimes as disgusting as having your way with a child, or with anyone who doesnt agree to the situation. What kind of punishment do you see fit, a smack on the hand with a ruler? Give me a freaking break, I agree with the harsher punshiment.

I agree with a harsh punishment as well, but think that we are out of the days of public hanging. I also think it has to be taken into consideration the crime. The term " Sex Offender" can be given to an 18 year old that has sex with a 15 or 16 year old if I am not mistaken. Even though both parties agree to it, if the parents decide to push the issue the 18 year old can be labeled a sex offender for the rest of their life. In this circumstance I do not feel that as harsh a punishment should be given as someone who has their way with a child. Just my thoughts, and no I am not an offender myself!

I agree they should rot in prison, if in fact their crime was with a child. I have another idea for those but can't post it on here! LOL! I just don't think the hanging in public is a very appropriate comment to come from a person that is running for public office and claiming to be impartial! He is going to have to deal with ALL these people. Like an earlier post said their are "sex offenders" that are were 18 and had consentual sex with a girl younger. So that would be a little harsh for those.

I stand corrected you are right I should of not made the public hanging comment. I'm not racist and not sure how you got that out of what I said; but anyway I just get really upset with our current lack of supervision for most all offfenders that are put on all types of "community supervision". My point is that in Kansas in general we should send sex offender's to prison instead of to "community supervision" in MOST cases. This is an argument that should be brought to the legislators by the people. None of us at the local leval can change any of the sentencing guide lines.
Again I am sorry for the hanging in public comment.

Jerry, you really have to keep an eye on which question you're responding too and under which name. Maybe in another four years people will have forgotten about you wanting to hang sex offenders... publicly.

This is what I mean by lip service. You say there is clear evidence that scum bag sex offenders are told where they can live and where they can not live their activities can be controlled. Well show me the evidence. Try here, this shows just the opposite. http://state29.blogspot.com/2006/11/iowa-to-k...
You and your ideas are wrong, they just make you feel better and this isnít really about you is it. You want kids to see public hangings? Iíll bet you complain about violence on TV too. There is a word for that and its hypocrite.

They do have mental issues but most of it is somthing that has happend to them when they were a child themselfs. Believe me im not making excuses for them because I dont agree with the fact that they do this to young kids but just that it was done to them and they dont know any better.

They dont know any better? What the... They do know better, they just cant control it. There needs to be programs to help them. They are sick people and they DO know the difference. Ever watch how to catch a predator? I am in NO way making excuses, if someone ever took any innocence from my kids, I would be doing time in prison.
