Everyones getting fired for missing work or not following company rules or just quiting its tuff. they are very strict the few of us that are still there work long hours lucky to get a day off. Come get a job there and find out how great it is. See it first hand. No matter what is said you wont believe it till you see it with your own eyes. Come on out get a job see how long you can last.

eventually with all the hiring and firing this company is doing they are gonna run out of people to hire in coffeyville. so they will be yet another company here hiring from people out of state leaving us here searching for a job. i can only hope that more people realize they have to work to live n just stick through it. its a job that pays the bills get off the drugs and focus on your work! we need the jobs here!

Southwire closed the plant in Kingman,AZ (that they originally bought from General Cable to get off of the IBEW unions black list) moving to Coffeyville, KS in search of cheaper labor --- they fired Kingman employees during the last days for trumped up reasons and then objected to their apps for unemployment benifits. For the last two years in Kingman they were not paying their medical insurance billings, so the bill was reverting to the employee. They are a company that uses employees as if they are robots, extracting the absolute most they can from them and then just finding a replacement when they burn out. Google 'Southwire Bangladesh' and you will really find out how evil they are. They sent poison disguised as fertilizer overseas to get rid of their toxic waste and then tried to cover it up. Check it out.

It is a good place to work now i was fired by bad managent but southwire was fooled by marty palmer he is an azz kisser with poor people skills and i was a good hand way to go who ever fired marty

First off.. people in this town has to be smarter than a 5th grader to get a job there. Second they should know anyone that looks like a crackhead wanting to work there. they'll be suject to pass a UA test even after being hired on. third working for anyone with Military Experience is no worse off than putting up with a boss who is a BIG DICK ! I guess you don't qualify to work there then. Most 5th graders have better sentence structure and can spell better than you in your post.

I worked at AIW for 8 years before I quit. At that time, turnover rate was 50% yearly. What is the turnover rate under Southwire?

where i work we get random drug tests, and i heard that if you want help from srs you got to pass a drug test.

These Business around here are getting smarter on hiring a drugthugs. yes they drug test random almost everywhere I've been. now our employer has gone one step up and closer to finding drugthugs. they take a DA testing from your hair sample and saving your head don't work guys. Employers send it off to be tested as far back that can be detected from that sample. In most cases even the most good looking respectable person can't even pass this test. WTF ! All you people are all on crack out there ??? this shows up in these drug test up to 9 months. even meth users are given this same testing sorry no breaks there. maybe if everyone would stop being a pussy and stop trying to find the bad in it and put a little care into the wire that they producei, well then maybe it wouldn't be such a horriable place. i know u probably assuming that i dont know but actully i know first hand i work there before southwire was there and i work there to this day . so i know what its like but when u have 20 people being negative about being there it make a long as 12 hour. it is what we make it people. suck it up and do your job and do it rigth. cause just cause sw did this to you or your people that dosnt give u the right to play god and possiably injure if not kill someone by producing bad wire and sending it to the customer i mean REALLY its not the customers fault you dont like your job

I also know first hand that safety of the employees was NOT the first priority when it was AIW. Employees could want to do a good job but were stopped by equipment that was unsafe and in some cases caused serious injury to them. I would hope that much has changed but I don't know anything about it now. But it really caused problems for the employees. How could you have a good work ethic and feel good about your job when the people you worked for didn't even care about your safety and you knew it?

Back when it was AIW, I know of two cases. One guy lost his life and could of been avoided with better training. Behind rewind, I believe, a woman lost a finger or two. This one was a OSHA.
